This is a beautiful rain gauge. The inground stand is sturdy and you can easily read the numbers. It came with 2 cylinders, in case you somehow break one. It was very accurate during a recent rain storm.

Help up to a hail storm, high winds, and a freeze so far. Texas weather is crazy but so far so good

Review updated Feb 2026 Mounted this with wire ties to a 6 foot tall planter stake. See photo. Could also have screwed it into wood fence but couldn’t see it as well if I did that. Didn’t use included stake because it’s of poor quality and it easily bent. Nice that package includes a second rain gauge tube. Maybe seller could consider selling the mounting bracket and gauge tubes for less without a stake. Gauge works great until temp drops below freezing. The large numbers and markings with a blue background on holder make it easy to see. Appears to be relatively accurate based on what tv weather casters say. We live in northern Georgia. Temp does get into the 20F range most winters and occasionally lower although almost never into single digits. Put guage up mid summer. Lasted till January before it got a hairline crack, probably due to water being in the tube when we got freezing rain. Tube was definitely not freeze proof as described in listing. Same thing with yellowing - ours definitely yellowed. See picture of new tube compared to the one that cracked. But I do like the easy readability so I purchased another 2 pack and installed a new tube once the weather promised no frost - it functioned the same as the first, once temps got below 25 degrees, it cracked. Yellowed too. Pictures show yellowing and crack. Really wish that they were indeed “freeze proof” and yellow proof. Would have given it 5 stars. Overall still the nicest one at Amazon, at least in my opinion. Sure wish they could make it better so I dont have to replace tubes annually.

It's been raining every day until I got my amazing rain gauge and now no rain. It looks great out in the yard and I'm sure it will look great with rain in it. lol

This is only 24 1/2" tall when pushed into the ground. Not the advertised height. The metal rod is very small in diameter. Underwhelmed by this product.
