The Rabbit Listened

This book made us rethink how we handle situations as parents and teaches our kids how to express their feelings! Both our young ones LOVE this book and it's one we gift to our friends! It should be a staple in any book collection!

Beautiful book about the simple power of listening. Quick synopsis: the child knocks down a tower they’ve been working hard on. Each animal comes with their own “helpful” reaction that doesn’t actually help until the rabbit comes in and just listens quietly, staying close by. The child then gets to experience the breadth of their own emotions (sad, mad, avoidant, hopeful) and then they’re able to rebuild again. Beautiful book with beautiful illustrations.

My children (2 and 4 year old) love this book! It’s such a great way to teach them that there are different ways to deal with failure and emotional regulation. Highly recommend!

Very great book. This was not bought for a child as this was shown to me by my therapist and it reminded me a lot of my girlfriend. Very, very nice message and we could all use someone in our lives like the rabbit. I’m so thankful to have her in my life.

Read through this book when it came and was immediately bawling. What a precious, sweet book (with beautiful illustrations!) and reminder that sometimes the best thing we can do for another is just be present and listen.
