Super Fast And Versatile
While these tires are supposedly urban/touring tires they are a fantastic gravel tire for hard pack dirt but dovery well on softer dirt due to their 42 mm size to float over dirt so compete with more aggresive tires thatare thinner. They do dual track and easy single track with ease and yoiu will be pleasantly surprised when runningon asphalt. When I do group gravel rides, I am by far the fastest rider on pedal free descents and have to brake constantly if I am not out in front. The speed at which I overtake riders in front of me on descents is unbelievableand this includes both dirt and asphalt. The tire is very light for its size and appears to be very flat resistant as well. The larger size also gives you a smooth ride that softens impacts very well. The value is the most incredible part as these tires are so reasonable. I proboably shouldn't even be giving this review and keep these tires a secret as they have become difficult to find in stock.

Supple and Cheap would recommend
These tires are great. I use them on my fun bike not a cross or race bike. They are quiet supple and when run at about 30-40 psi give a phenomenal amount of cushion and a great amount of grip. Riding mostly on the streets I was a bit afraid of cornering as having lugs on the outside can tend to feel dangerous. On other more dirt centered tires like conti crosskings cornering on streets I feel the lugs actually move on the z axis to the wheel, though i do have to say I'm not knocking the crosskings they are phenomenal on the dirt though I do wish they came in bigger sizes. These lugs feel fine in good cornering though I haven't done any crazy cornering but that's usually only done on my more race centered road bike anyway. On thing I do have to note is that I got a flat for the first time in about a year and a half the first week I rode these tires, due to a goats head I rode over. I have been riding these tires for a few weeks now and am very happy with them other then that one flat, and if I get more puntures I would consider a tire liner. Though tire liners usually negate the benefits of a relatively supple tire like this one. All in all I would recommend this tire for city riding as its so wide you can run it at low pressures and your ass will thank you.

A great value!
I favor file-tread patterns like this tire has for most general use purposes (obviously not including mud); they're smooth enough for an enjoyable and quiet ride on pavement, and they're also just "tready" enough to do well in mild loose material (like dirt/gravel roads, general two-track use, etc). I'm not a cyclocrosser, but tires like this generally fit my general use pattern.I have a Trek Verve 3, which came with 700x35 tires that inflate up to only about 33mm wide and about 31mm tall (from the edge of the rim). I generally prefer a little more volume than that. Trek advises that a 38mm tire is the largest they recommend. These Continentals are nominally 700x42, but they air up to about 38-39mm, perfect for my application. I could probably force-fit a 40mm tire on it, but that would be pushing it, both in terms of frame clearance and rim width (16mm inside width on the stock Bontrager AT-750 rims). So, by size, these tires are perfect for me. They mounted easily (this is the first folding bead tire I've had, and they were a cinch to install). I also liked how thin the casing is on this tire. I'm pretty careful where and how I ride, and I'm not prone to flatting. Rather than super thick "bombproof" touring tires that ride more like wooden hoops (like a Marathon or similar), I prefer a tire with a thinner casing for a more supple ride while still using a conventional rubber tube.On the road and trail, they're wonderful. I weigh about 235 pounds, and keep these inflated to about 45 psi in the front and 55 psi in the rear. This is enough air to keep them from pinch-flatting on gravel/tree roots/manhole covers while also delivering a comfortable ride and good contact patch for traction. I'm not a fan of inflating pneumatic tires so high that you might as well be using a solid tire -- I like a little more compliance for ride comfort and conformance to the surface for traction.Aesthetically, the tire looks great. The sidewalls have a very clean look to them and the Continental logo stampings are classy and subtle. These tires are a great buy. I like them so much on my Trek, these are probably what I'll put on my daughter's Raleigh Alysa when the stock Kenda Kwiks need replacing.

Soft and Slow
I would not recommend, unless you weigh nothing and have a light bike. I got these as a replacement for knobby CST Pika 700 x 38c tires, thinking they would be faster. Was I wrong. Maybe I don't have the right tubes for these, or I'm too heavy (250 lbs) but these tires are really soft and slow, doubled pedaling effort compared to the Pikas (I went back to those and they are way faster on pavement than these "speed ride" tires, and more ridgid.) These Conti's wrinkle up like a deflated balloon when you let the air out, and still feel soft at 85 psi. I have had great luck with other Continental tires, but paid more than double what these cost. They look just like the Trigger Sport tires that came on my Specialized Crosstrail, but the performance just isn't there. Sluggish, squishy, yet quiet and comfortable. Buy these if you want to feel like you're pedalling uphill constantly. I've never experienced tires this slow. The Continental Top Contact however, which I have on my other hybrid, is an amazing tire. Also costs 60 bucks a tire. If you want speed, fast, greasy speed on pavement, get those. For mixed use I am sold on the CST Pika and they are only around 30 dollars a tire. Decided to stay with the mildly knobby CST tires and explore some dirt trails. And they feel very speedy after trying out these rubber slugs. Other reviewers have loved them, but they were too soft for this heavy rider. Durability, can't really say but the rubber feels thin and weak, wires already showing through the bead. They do not hold form at all, no structural strength. Wondering if I got a knockoff or a Monday made set.

Buenas llantas

In città, fra buche, crepe, tombini mal allimeati..

Vas a volar
