This NICREW filter is pretty decent. It's small and doesn't take up much space in my tank, which I like (I have a betta named Bubbles, she loves it). The filter does its job well enough, keeping the water clean and clear. I haven't had any issues with the flow being too strong or anything, though sometimes I wish it was just a LITTLE stronger, you know? Anyway, it's easy to set up and use. (I accidentally put the sponge in backwards at first, but it still worked fine). It came with everything I needed, so no complaints there.Overall, this filter is great for small tanks like mine. The adjustable flow is a nice feature too, although I don't really mess with it much. And hey, if you need to clean the media, it's super easy and quick to do. You can't beat that! Definitely would recommend this one to anyone looking for a reliable and quiet filter for their small aquarium.

This slim aquarium filter works okay for my 5 gallon tank, and I like that the flow is adjustable. It runs fairly quietly once it’s properly set up. However, the instructions were a bit unclear, and it took some trial and error to get it working without making noise. Also, the build quality feels a little flimsy, so I’m not sure how long it will last. It’s a decent budget option, but don’t expect too much.

This little thing is a beast! I bought it for my 5-gallon betta tank to replace my (3rd) Topfin fish filter after it burnt out. Not only is it practically silent once it gets going, but it is super easy to set up, just put 3 pieces together, fill it with water, and let it do its thing. The current isn't too strong, and my fish seems to enjoy taking little strolls under it. It also cleared up my water practically overnight, and I use sand as substrate. I'll have to update my review after having it for at least a month, but for now, as long as I keep the impeller clean, it looks promising.

The media could not be loaded. Highly recommend. I have 2. One for a 5 gallon standard and one in a 6 gallon cube. I cant stand in tank filters or airstone filters that hum so this was a perfect option. Have been working flawless for around 3 months. Virtually silent and can adjust flow from high to a slight trickle. I do not use the cartridge as I have plenty of plants for natural filtration and have a low bioload. I buy the smallest bag of purigen and split it into two bags and it will fit in the compartment to remove tannins out of my water from the wood.

Yes I like it! Easy to setup , just keep in mind you need to fill the filter box with water and adjust to make it work, I am sure everyone that has fish knows but I am new to this. Overall it works great and nice small size for small tanks.

This little pump works fairly well. I have a turtle hatchling in a 2.5 gallon aquarium and it is just enough to keep the water almost completely clear. I would buy it again. It says it's rated for up to 8 gallons, but I don't believe I would use it in anything bigger than a 2.5 gallon tank. Other than that, it's a nice, quiet, filter/pump. The cost was nice too.
