This is a nice cookbook and has some good simple recipes. I purchased it at the same time as "Diabetes Meals by the Plate" and by following the recipes in these two cookbooks, I have lost 4 lbs in the 3 weeks since I was diagnosed with diabetes. Just saw my diabetic counselor yesterday and she was impressed with the weight loss and the drop in my glucose level. If your eating habits are as bad as mine were these two books offer an easy way to switch to a healthier diet and not feel deprived.

Because my dad is diabetic I know that diabetic living and meal planning can be a hassle, especially when you're new to it. To get yourself started off in the most convenient way possible, this book takes the guess work out of how to cope with mealtimes.There are a significant number of recipes that use regular bread and pasta, although it's **very** easy to fix that by using whole grain substitutes (or mixing regular pasta with whole grain pasta for a good compromise). And, although there is a lot of bread and pasta in the book, the carb counts per serving still max out at 35 grams (there aren't many recipes that have that high of a carb count, if that concerns you). Because there are those recipes, when you're craving something like noodles or sandwiches (let's face it -- it happens!) you are assured to stay within your carb allotment!The recipes in this book were well-planned, and although I LOVE salt and ingredients that are not altogether healthy, the flavors and textures of the foods featured here are enough to keep me on track to healthier eating. I'm not diabetic, but by using this book I will help myself stay healthier than ever (and I have recipes to pass along to my dad, who loves healthy diabetic cooking). It was a good find!

I'v only looked at this book so far but the recipes look really quick and easy. I will be trying some of them shortly

Love all the recipes. Each recipe has a full color picture of the entrée and of course the fact that diabetics need good food that is tasty also and this fills the bill.

This is a good variety starter diabetic cook book. Have tried several recipes. A couple didn't excite us but others are very good. That is to be expected for personal taste. I like that the Instructions are clear and easy as well as nutrition information.

Great recipes for anyone that is either diabetic or looking to limit the amount of sugar they intake for a diet. Even my kids like the recipes and they can be pretty picky eaters sometimes.
