My son is 1.5 year old and plays with it even though he doesn't understand how to build anything complex, he would still just connect the pieces together. My 5 year old niece came to visit and loved this toy. The magnets are strong enough to hold pieces together, but if a toddler slaps on a structure, it will collapse for sure.I think it's a good value for the money. Lots of fun, even the adults start playing with it, and I would even say that it is educational because you need to think in a 3D way and learn how to build things that don't collapse right away.
