I bought these for my mom who's big into super foods, etc. I researched it a bit and decided that it didn't sound all that bad, so I opened the pack and kept a small sample for myself. I throw them (maybe around 8 to 10 tablets for 2 servings) into my morning smoothie (I have a Vitamix) and there is no distinct taste or aftertaste, but it does make my smoothie a sea foam green or strange grey, depending on what other ingredients I put in it. I decided I even like it - there is a subtle difference in taste from when I didn't add spirulina in it as well as texture, but it could be due to the chia/flax/hemp seeds I also throw in there. I haven't tried taken them straight in tablet form, so I can't say how they taste on that end.I haven't felt any big difference health-wise, but these things take time. I've only had my spirulina-boosted smoothies over 3 mornings thus far. So far, though, I'm open to the idea of buying a bag for myself when I finish with the small sampling I have.

I had an issue with the last batch I ordered. Contacted the company and the response I got was exceptional. I wouldn't hesitate to continue doing business with them and would encourage anyone interested in adding Spirulina to your supplements, give this company a try.

Dr. Pompa recommends ENERGYbits on his podcast so I gave them a try. I do Crossfit 4-5 times a week and I found that taking 20-25 on an empty stomach really made a big difference in my energy and stamina to complete a WOD. Unfortunately, ENERGYbits are ridiculously expensive and not tenable for me as long term supplementation. They are $120 for 1,000 pills.I got on Amazon and started checking out other more cost effective options. Sunlit Best Green Organics is 25% of the price of ENERGYbits. That seems a bit crazy that the price discrepancy can be so large, so I ordered a bag to compare them. I don't know if Sunlit's marketing claims are accurate and true, but I honestly can't tell a difference between these and ENERGYbits. Color, size, packaging and claims are similar. The actual product gives me the same energy and stamina at the gym. Since I can buy 4 bags for the price of 1 of the competitor, they have a new customer in me! In fact, at this price, I was able to also purchase their Chlorella supplement that is supposed to be beneficial for the immune system and removal of lactic acid. ENERGYbits markets this as RECOVERYbits for another $120 a month. Now I can take both!

being "yeasty" i am to steer clear of any whey protein. well, there isnt much you can ingest with a systemic yeast infection. so, getting an adequate intake of protein without worsening the yeast infection is no easy matter. when you go to the gym like i do, adequate protein is essential!! before embarking on my typically grueling leg work out this morning i chewed up 40 tabs. let me tell you, 3 hours later and there was NO DOUBT this spirulina made a TREMENDOUS improvement in my energy, endurance and strength!! will DEFINITELY become a part of my daily rountine!

I periodically buy a fresh made vegetable juice from the health food stores that combines carrots, spinach, beets and other fresh squeezed juices. I buy it because I don't eat enough vegetables. I started taking a handful of these tablets a day. Last time I went to the health food store I was surprised that I had NO DESIRE WHATSOEVER to have that vegetable drink. My body was completely satisfied. Apparently, between the Spirulina and my organic multi-vitamins, I no longer need to drink that vegetable cocktail. Yes, this stuff is excellent for me. I'm convinced.

Very good product, but a little too pricey

Who would've thought that such a product would save my cat's life? After getting my kitten spayed, she suffered a serious post-operative infection that included massive sneezing fits accompanied by heavy nasal hemorrhaging. I was beside myself until my friend--an RN--suggested "something with Vitamin K." Worth a try, my desperate self concluded, and after over a week of sneezing/bloody noses, it only took 2 days of giving my cat 1000 mg Spirulina to resolve her health problems...plus a bonus of the most beautiful coat EVER. I'm sold on algae now (& kitty gets a small maintenance dose daily. She's healthy & GORGEOUS)

I have that item on monthly orders, no more. It went from ok to garbage. Now it smells like a cheap dog food, I don’t think it’s a real spirulina.
