I was a bit apprehensive when I received the rods since I didn't read the full details of the sizing options. It IS adjustable, but not by the typical way. It is in segments, so the sizes are limited to the size of the segments, it does NOT slide into itself. You must use it in 16 inch increments. That said, it was workable for my window and I believe the style of the construction makes it stronger. They screw together well, nice and tight, not sloppy or cheap looking, no bendable thin metal. It's doing a great job holding my black out drapes. I needed a smaller diameter to fit the command strip curtain holders (rental, don't want to drill holes) and it's a perfect size for them. All in all, it works really well for what I needed and is definitely strong enough for the job.

The rods feel sturdy. They are not too heavy. They have the hardware and look good. They are black in color and easy to assemble. However they are not telescoping style. They are rod extension. You have so many poles and put together the closest measurement. I needed the telescoping kind. The add a rod style gives me too much width for the window and doesn't let you modify it when you have to add a rod. If this is what you are looking for they are great, but not what I needed.
