The Cursed: Coven of Bones, Book 2

Such an intense and crazy ending!
Oh my gosh! This was an insane ride…Picking up right after book 1 Willow is devastated by the betrayal of Grey. This was an epic enemies to lovers story and If you loved book 1 you are absolutely going to crazy for book 2. Just when you thought you had all the details sorted and figured out you are smacked right in the face with even more. This book was a journey filled with twists and turns that were happy, frustrating, infuriating, and sad.I couldn’t NOT experience an influx of emotions as Willow battled her new reality and The Cursed kept me up until the early hours of the morning since I could not put it down. I fell in love with Grey from the start in The Coven and sure I may be questioning my judgement here but I fell even harder here. His shift in character was so fascinating I couldn’t help but root for him despite all of his deceitful ways.As far as the spice I would say 4.5/5 🌶️ what is written is SPICY but it isn’t the sole focus of the book as it is well balanced with the plot which I loved!Minor Potential Spoilers ⚠️Now I did rate this 5 ⭐️ because of the emotions The Cursed imbued me with. However, there were a few details that kept nagging at me as I read. 1. Willow is all powerful yes, but there’s no reason for her to not continue attending classes - she really didn’t do anything that would prohibit her. 2. SOOO much was happening right at the end of the book so while I’m glad the series is continuing on it does feel like Willow & Grey should make a return at some point as the main characters given the direction of the story. I have full faith in the author to pull it off though so I’m excited to see what’s next!

Say it isn't so, I can't let go.
The Cursed picks up right where The Coven left off. This book hits the ground running and doesn't let up. There are twists and turns to keep you on the edge of your seat. There is also enough spice to keep you satisfied.I am so sad this is the end of the duet, but I can not wait for this world to keep building.Willow and Gray are two of my favorite characters, and their story was beautifully broken and painful. But it was so much more than that as well. The lies and decite are there, but the love outshines it all.Willow is alone. She has no one she can trust except herself. After Gray's betrayal, her heart is broken, but that won't keep her down for long.Gray knows he's hurt Willow, but he will do everything he can to show her his love. He will always be there for Willow and constantly pushes her to stop holding herself back. It won't be easy, but Gray is determined to keep Willow by his side for eternity.I couldn't put this book down. It was a great read, and I loved Gray and Willow and even the side characters. I highly recommend reading this!

some spoilers ahead
Okay so I enjoyed this story for the most part. But this book itself was a bit too much the first half, every other chapter is like this:Willow: I hate you! I have to kill you!Willow: I love him, I can’t kill him, but I have to. Even though it’s going to literally destroy me in the process.Willow: He’s so awful! I’m going to pretend I care about him so I can kill him.Willow: *sleeps with him and forgets she “hates” him yet again*You see my point. Anyways, as much as I want to say I like how this dualogy ended I really didn’t. It left so much up for more explanation and stories. Like wtf is going to happen with the whole Maiden situation? You’re telling me this whole time Margot doesn’t even like Beelzebub? I don’t know. I read the first book in a day and a half and this one took me about a week to finish. There’s just a lot of plot holes and unresolved storylines. I feel like the first 60% could’ve been cut in half and we could’ve gotten more explanation for other things in the story. I still enjoyed it though? Just not my favorite books I’ve ever read. Left me wanting more.

Gray and Willow
When I reviewed book one I had to be mindful not to give spoilers and that meant I couldn't go on and on about the shocking cliffhanger we were treated to. But now I can. If you haven't read book 1 of this series, stop reading this review and go find book 1. Book 2 is not a standalone. So at the end of book one, our hearts are ripped out as we find out that the Gray we had fallen in love with alongside Willow, was in fact, not only manipulating her the entire time, but wasn't even "Gray". Turned out he was Lucifer Morningstar himself. Trapped in the body of a vessel. The horrific way he treated her made the betrayal that much more devastating. I was shocked, appalled and saddened. The way he did things...so callous and cold.Anyway.This book pics up immediately where book one left off. Willow bleeding out from a stab wound, given by Gray aka Lucifer. And we are along for the ride as she recovers and attempts to navigate a new reality, one where the man she had started falling in love with isn't who she thought he was. A reality where everyone has an agenda, and she can't really trust anyone. A reality, where despite the pain and fear and fury Gray has created within her, he's decided he won't ever let her go.It's a wild ride.Well written, steamy, fun, sad, interesting. The ending was abrupt in a way that left me unsure if Gray and Willow's story was concluded or if there would be a third novel with them living out what looks to he quite the prophecy. What we do know, is there will be a third book in the series centered on two side characters, who I will not name because I'm not big on spoiling things. If this was the end of Gray and Willow's story, then I'm not sure what to say. There were what I felt were loose ends... but at the same time, those loose ends could technically be tied up by other books centering on other characters.10/10 would recommend this book.

Neeeeed More!
The Coven was one of my top paranormal romance reads. The Cursed was the perfect follow up to The Coven. It answered all of my questions from The Coven and then introduced me to more questions.Willow was a hard FMC to love for a good part of the book. She was one of those characters that you could tell was heavily influenced by what she thought was right and what her family wanted rather than trusting her heart. Lucifer is a top tier book boyfriend. He literally defines touch her and d I e vibes. And will do anything and everything for her.I can’t wait to see what happens next!

Love it love it
Who doesn’t love a story when THE VILLAIN gets the Girl? The chemistry and intensity are always a ticking bomb in those and this one was fireworks ready to happen whenever they go on a BANTER.The book started with a very interesting prologue which amazed me and made me curious for many things in one go. The story was twisted on many roads and took a surprising turn every few chapters. The chemistry is mind-boggling.Willow has come so far in her life and abilities and has developed in an intricate way. Gray being the devil, ups the game by 10th intensity and left me wanting more and more. He may be the VILLAIN but is he the actual villain??The last few chapters were shocking and I love it when I can’t see them coming. There is so much left to explore in this world and the possibilities of the future are endless. The events set in motion will want to follow through someday and I hope Harper decides to write that one in a few years. The journey was the hardest one has endured but the result is sweet and by the end, we learn that this is not THE END. This is just the beginning of many more adventures to come in the world of Crystal Hollow and I will be looking forward to each and every one of them.A must-read DUET.

This book!
I loved this duet! I bought the first book not expecting it to be so good. And now I was craving the second bookI loved willow and Grays story. The twists and plot line are fabulous. Didn't see a lot of it coming. Will love these books forever. And I hope that we see some of the side characters getting their own wee story. Harper woods has done a fantastic job with this story. The world building and you really get to see a different side to willow and gray that you didn't get in the first book. They really did grow together like willow did with all her magics. Lovely to read and experience!

Very confusing
Not sure what happened with book 2. I enjoyed book one a lot and was very interested in learning more and Gray and Willow.Unfortunately, what I read was a disjointed story with characters doing 180s.The change in direction of the story when it was nearly over was also odd.The ending for Gray and Willow was also very abrupt and the epilogue wasn’t even about them. The lack of proofreading was very evident in the kindle edition.

Harper L Woods is a genius and I need more!!
This book had me gripping the edge of my seat, yelling at the characters, dropping my kindle out of shock and loving every bloody second of it!!! The coven was definitely an intro into the characters of Willow and Gray that left you wanting more and hoping that the cursed would deliver… WELL IT DID ♥️The Cursed delved more into Willow‘s past and had you feeling all the emotions for what her future would hold, and Gray is what dreams are made of! And the spice is hands down on par with Jennifer L Armentrout 🌶️If you haven’t picked this series up yet you need to get it asap because it’s amazing!
