Great beginner incubator
Ordered this incubator last minute to hatch eggs from a hen that I had lost by predator. I have used it twice so far. The first hatched 3 out of 8 and the second hatched 1 out of 12. I do not blame the incubator for the low hatch rates however. On the first hatch there were eggs that ended up not being fertile and on the second hatch they were almost 3 week old eggs before I was finally able to get them set. Only 3 of those 12 eggs ended up being viable. As far as incubator quality...it feels sturdy, and appears like it will hold up to use. It is extremely easy to set up, operate and clean afterwards, which makes it nice for in home use. It's small enough to easily set on a kitchen counter and not be in the way. Some things to consider before purchasing: The temperature stayed consistent although it ran slightly lower than the set temp. You may want to increase the set temp slightly to get your desired range. You'll want to add a hygrometer/thermometer inside the incubator to keep an eye on those numbers. I found the humidity to be the most challenging issue with this incubator. The water bottle while it does deliver water to the incubator, I found to be difficult to adjust and it kept the humidity higher than necessary (around 80%). In the future I would dry hatch instead or just manually add water as needed through the tube. I have had zero issues with the automatic turner with the chicken eggs. I saw several negative comments in the reviews about the turner but I never personally experienced any issues. As long as the lid was secured correctly the turner has worked. It's easy to do a test turn to make sure it's working if you're not sure. Overall I am pleased with this unit and will update once I have run a dry hatch through it. Would love for it to be able to hold more than 12 chicken eggs but so far it has done it's job with the eggs that were viable.

Our chicks hatched! An easy to use, uncomplicated, and effective home incubator.
We successfully hatched 10 out of 12 chicks from this incubator, and the two that didn’t make it were our fault (cracked eggs from the beginning). The incubator automatically turns the eggs daily a few times so it was essentially hands off. We added a mini hygrometer to monitor humidity levels, which also had a temperature readout, and it was more or less consistent with the temp noted on the top of the incubator. We stopped using the water tower it comes with and just added water manually whenever needed. Very pleased with the product - highly competitive with other brands of similar size and functionality and without the useless bells and whistles found on other models. We are pretty hands-on hatchers, so we appreciated that this incubator had no frills or gimmicks - rotation, heat, and humidity (and patience!) are all that are required in the end, and the unit provided that. Our happy 6 week old pullets/cockerels attest to its effectiveness. Recommended purchase!

Keep the styrofoam & buy hygrometer
The good: - 100% hatch rate my first try - clear lid makes it easy to watch the hatching - turner works well (so far anyway, I just started my second dozen eggs) The bad: - very large chicken eggs barely fit & I had to alternate with smaller eggs - humidity control was hard. If the water attachment was on the little foam block as instructed, humidity was way too high days 1-17. During lockdown, the humidity was still too high, and the spikes in humidity when a chick hatches didn’t come back down quickly. I dealt with days 1-17 but not filling the water bottle above half and putting it on the counter without the foam block. During lockdown prior to hatch, I would lift the bottle for the amount of humidity I needed to add manually and then set it back down so it wouldn’t go too high. During hatching, I removed the water bottle to vent extra humidity, and still had to open the lid several times so the unhatched chicks wouldn’t drown. If you live in a more humid area, you could probably dry hatch and this wouldn’t be an issue. - temperature consistently was off by a couple of degrees and can only be adjusted in full degrees (98, 99, 100, etc). If you don’t use the styrofoam, it has a harder time maintaining the temperature. For my second batch of eggs, I added a small space heater so I can avoid using the styrofoam. I also put 2 hygrometers inside the dome so I can monitor things. The side where the water attaches is always slightly cooler and more humid than the opposite side. Overall, I’m ok with the extra work for the lower cost.

Worked perfectly
Update May 7. We successfully hatched 11 of 12 Ancona duck eggs with this incubator. The eggs were too big to use the auto turner, so pulled that out and just manually turned several times a day. It worked great. Original review. Hatched 11 out of 11 (12th egg was not fertilized) and I have never hatched eggs before! Only drawback was keeping track of humidity..I mistakenly thought you just kept putting water in the reservoir if it could fit…well, day 1 and 2 were a sauna. I bought a four pack of humidity and temp sensors, taped one to the inside of the dome and put the other on the table in front of the incubator. Room humidity stayed around 40-50%, so I only added about a cap full of water once or twice a day to get it to 55%, but I didn’t stress about it, either. For the cost, it was perfect. $50 of chicks from my own eggs for less than the cost of the machine. You do need to plan on checking it several times a day (typically 4-5 for me). Lid snaps into place, but not always on the first try..if it’s not in place, then you will lose heat and humidity.
