There is a slipway into the lake, which is where I used to stand to throw out the pellets, but I found I was getting ‘mobbed’ by the swans, they are quite scary when they are competing for food with the ducks! So I now throw from a platform overhanging the lake. What is really funny is that the birds seem to recognise my red coat and as soon as I appear I see them making a beeline for me from all over the lake!
