I was immediately impressed by the high quality of the mount. I was expecting something a bit more flimsy but it's quite sturdy and it looks and feels premium. My original plan was to use it only to mount my phone to my monitor for meetings since that video quality is way better than my webcam but I was also impressed by how it looks as a phone stand. I liked that you can also remove the magnetic portion and use only that for a thin monitor like the one on a macbook. On that same note, I loved that you can use a MagSafe charger instead of the magnet that comes with it so your mount now doubles as a charger, genius! In general I highly recommend it

I’ve had this product for about a year now and can say that it has been solid. It’s built well, albeit a little bulky. Today, however, I was surprised to find what looked like black ink leaking out from the magnetic puck piece. I looked into it to find that magnetic liquid is sometimes used in something like this along with an actual magnet. I’m assuming that’s what the ink substance is. It did stain my hands but I somehow managed to keep it from staining my clothes and bag. I’m a bit disappointed to find that the sealant failed after only one year. Your mileage may vary. 2 stars for the sealant failure. Otherwise a really good product. **UPDATE** It's worth saying that once I wrote this review, the seller quickly connected with me to see how they could make it right. I appreciate a company that stands by their product and offers good customer service so I am changing my review to 5 stars.

This is a good product. It is very sturdy and holds well on external monitors. However, I do not like that it is optimized more for the back camera. I usually try to use my front camera in portrait mode. It holds well with good grip. But when taking it off, it usually comes out with the phone. I wish it is stuck to the monitor more solidly.

The iPhone has a much better camera than the one built into the Apple Studio display, particularly in low light. This works great for Zoom calls. It's heavy, but if it's staying at home, that's a good thing as it will likely last and I think it must be heavy to be stable with a big phone, like my iPhone Pro-Max (the biggest iPhone). It's not too heavy to lug around, but there are lighter options available. The stand is adjustable and I found I could point it as I wished. It can easily be transported to the living room TV for a facetime call with family as well (i.e. screen cast to the TV). I should also mention that the stand comes in very nice packaging, making this a good choice for a gift. Recommended.

I really wanted to like this mount. Looks great on paper with multiple functions but the biggest downside for me was the weight. I bought this mostly for the continuity camera function but once you put this on top of the screen for your mac and then mount your iPhone, it overwhelms the hinge for the screen. Super easy for it to either bend all the way back or forward and losing the mount or phone or both. Hard to get just the right balance. On top of that, it wasn't very secure to the screen. Meaning, there was too much play with just the mount "attached" to the screen. As soon as I tried to make any little adjustment, it just wanted to come off. It's well made, has a lot of uses and functions but for what I primarily wanted it for, it just didn't work. YMMV Edit: I upped my stars to a 3 due to the fact that SODI reached out and offered a full refund. I'd have to say that's pretty impressive as it shows they stand behind their products whether it works for you or not. I will definitely check out their other items for this simple fact. It's nice to see this type of response from a company.

Works great with my iPhone 16 and my prior 14 max pro. I use it for MS teams video calls, and sometimes recording videos using my MacBook Pro. I don't use it as often as I thought I would. With this setup you can't use your phone for anything else during a long video call, you can't use it to check texts or anything on the side, but for what it is this is a solid choice. My iPhone definitely outperforms my Logitech 1080p webcam that I used to think was pretty good. I still use my Logitech webcam's microphone which I think sounds better than the MacBook microphone or is better placed to pick up my voice perched on top of my external monitor right next to this phone mount.

Does not work well with 2021 MacBook Air. The screen is too thin for this device. It will sit on top but there is extra room on the clip so it tilts backwards and is not a secure connection. A tiny bump of my desk — even using my keyboard at speed — jostles the unit and the camera wobbles around constantly, very unprofessional. Not great as a desk stand for the iPhone 17 continuity camera. The phone is too heavy so the unit tips. You have to tilt it back to get it to stand up, but then your camera angle looks crazy. If it extended higher it miiiiight be worth keeping because the angle would improve slightly and I could rest it against my second monitor, but there are better options for phone stands. The circle magnet piece that holds your camera is a separate attachment that clips into the base. The clip is not secure. It comes half unclipped at any adjustment and feels loose, I just don’t trust my iPhone hanging mid-air with this thing. Maybe bad quality control. Magnet works well and the rotate feature is nice, but again the weak clip and lack of fit for Mac make this unusable

I never intended to keep a dedicated camera on my computer at all times, and even less did I want to add yet another expensive piece of gear to my setup, especially when so many webcams feel overpriced for the quality and reliability they offer. Over the years, I’ve been looking for ways to make proper use of my phone as a camera instead, and this mount ended up being exactly what I needed. I own two relatively new phones, one of which had been sitting unused since I upgraded, and being able to give it a second life thanks to this simple solution has been genuinely great. I use CAMO to connect the phone to my PC, which lets me take advantage of all the cameras on the device with ease, and with this mount the whole setup becomes effortless, stable, and practical to use on a daily basis. Magnet should be stronger, its not week (holds the phone) but if you have a iPhone Pro Max like me you can feel that its barley holding on.. also, the price is absolutely ridiculous for what you get, its over a a nice feel, fit and finish but the price should be reduced by 25% or so, its just not justified! (I payed in USD: 36,70 for it)
