Space Invaders Extreme 2
I loved all the old video games and when I look at them now they are so dated but still brilliant to play. Space Invaders Extreme 2 is fantastic - it is so like the old but with all these new graphics and I cannot get past BOSS 4 but I love it. Got Exteme first and could not believe it when 2 came out at such a reasonable price. It won't appeal to everyone but I do not like fighting games I just love anything to do with shooting down spaceships (nerd or what)!!

very good
I really like playing this game as it reminds me of playing on the old arcade games like this. This game though you can play endlessly without having to go to an arcade and pump your money in to play.

good but not great
The game overall is very good, but like one of the other reviews said: It is over very quickly. I started and finished the whole game in the same day.If you like playing the same game and maybe just improving your time, its the game for you. If you like to challenging yourself get something else. The other thing i didnt like was the graphics in the background whilst you are playing could be a bit off putting.

It's a blast!
To my surprise, I enjoyed this game a lot.The original Space Invaders was a very basic game, which as most people will know involved shooting rows of aliens as they marched from left to right and back again, progressing slowly further down the screen as they went. The less of them there were, the faster they went, and if they got to the bottom, they won.So it was with a sense of slight dread as I started up the DS to give this game a whirl, and immediately I was surprised - the screen is now a cacophany of colour, with a 'rave' track playing in the background. If you have a rumble device, it buzzes in time to the beat (a small touch, but nice). The Space Invaders themselves are all colour-coded, too - if you shoot four or five of the same colour in succession, a weapon pod will fall down and give you a chance to gain a much more powerful and efficient way to kill them, although it won't last for long. They often use both screens too, rather than restricting themselves to just the lower one. There are a limited amount of stages, and this game is the type that you will find yourself returning to regularly for a quick blast, as the main thing about it is the playability. The design team have put a lot of thought into this game, and have included a 'Score Challenge' mode as well as a 'Time Challenge' one. It's not going to win any awards for intricate plot or strategy development, but this is one of those games that is what it is - plain and simple - and does it well. It's a relatively cheap buy, and a good value game for the dads as well as the kids. The only thing I wanted was more stages - there's 5 here and they do vary, as well as different difficulty levels, but my perfect arcade game lets me shoot away for hours without ever reaching the end, so I'll bestow 4 on it with pleasure. The player is offered different routes through the stages, with easy and difficult alternatives at times - as well as being offered the chance to continue if you end up perishing, so there is longevity to this purchase.Recommended to all those of you out there who remember the original. And all of you who don't! It's a blast.
