1 star just because of the construction of the machine.I have had an Atomstack A5 pro for over 2 years and have been really happy with it even though I knew its power was not strong enough for the type of parts I cut with it. I just know I need to run more passes to cut the parts.When the Atomstack S40 Pro max came out and based on my experience with the little A5, I did not even check its reviews and bought it as soon as I could.Big mistake! The appearance of the machine is great, very well constructed and as easy to operate as my little one. I used it for two days and loved it up until I was cutting a part and it did the internal holes like usual but suddenly it started to just mark the part did not cut it as with the rest of it. O noticed that the cut line was some 2 millimeters wide and about 0.5 millimeters deep.I tried a couple more cuts but the end result was always the same. I assumed the diodes or the reflecting glasses moved inside the cannon and of course, various low power laser beams hit the part.To me, Atomstack did not test their new machine long enough to make sure things like this did not happen.After checking other reviews, I noticed that more people experienced the same problem so I had no other option but return the machine.Right now I’m back to my old A5 and looking for another brand, more powerful laser cutter also with the extended bed.

Cuts and engraves over 50 percent faster than my 10 watt output laser. the spot size does not seem any bigger either. But using the 24 watt setting makes the spot size slightly smaller making detailed engravings a little sharper. the large size does make building an enclosure for it a little more challenging though.I had to change my rating because after 2 weeks of intermittent use, the laser stopped working. it failed rapidly as I was trying to engrave some painted tiles. it started off okay then began losing power until it no longer output any visible beam.
