Did a Group Book Study on this and it was wonderful. The questions he asks are the questions many of us ask, especially in from the pews.It is, however, not as easy of a read as it claims to be. It can be done. There is no doubt about that, but this is a thinking book and a challenging book. Fretheim is a scholar's scholar and for that type of person he is still as accessible as they get. Yet the reading is academic and challenging. But people in the group study were from all over the spectrum from high school educated to MBA's and they did find it rich and worth it.This is an ambitious endeavor. He takes on dozens of questions and each of which have been the subjects of hundreds of dissertations and series of books...Fretheim responds to such difficult questions in 3 to 5 pages a piece.

Great for learning the basics and then going a little deeper. Our class loved it. Very readable, but not dumbed down.

Gives multiple perspectives to theological issues and is very easy to read

Very simple answers to your questions about the Christian faith and why we believe what we do. Great to share with your kids.
