Sea Pearls- Classic Reusable Sea Sponges- Large 2-Pack

regular tampons would make my vaginal hurt when I would put them in on the first or second day because I would have to use the largest size. they hurt to take out and would leak aftera be 4 hours. these sponge tampons are much softer, cleaner, and they actually helped with my cramps. I didn't experience any leakage, but it did take some getting used to putting them in and taking them out. I would recommend using jojoba oil to help put them in. I also cleaned mone with apple cider vinegar, but when I put them away I cleaned it with hydrogen peroxide. make sure you read everything there is to know about these before you use them. it helped clear a lot of questions up.the only thing I would warn you to be careful about is using these while you have sex. my boyfriend was completely grossed out by this idea. after we had sex and I tried to take it out, it essentially lost/stuck inside. after about a half hour he hesitantly helped get it out (thank god we've been together for 2 years! haha). that's the only thing I won't use these for.I honestly wish I discovered these sooner. I always hated how tampons dried my vaginal out and how it hurt to put them in and take them out. I probably will never use anything else!

I'm sold on these. They are comfortable, easy to use and to clean, I don't feel like I have to change my tampon every time I use the restroom because the string gets wet and feels uncomfortable, and sex with them was fine (I didn't notice a difference and my SO, who is normally against period sex because the blood bothers him, was perfectly fine with vaginal and oral with these). I didn't even realize how uncomfortable tampons were until I used these. Another plus that comes to mind is I wasn't worried about getting out of the shower with these in. Normally on heavy days I'd have to leave a tampon in and change it right as I got out of the shower and on light days I'd put one in after showering. With these I easily rinsed it out in the shower, put it back in, and forgot about it until it was time to rinse again. I'm sure I'm forgetting about some of the benefits, but they are definitely worth it so far! My only hesitation is changing them in public. I took an extra to work with me so I could place the used one in a plastic baggy until I got home to rinse it. This worked fine, but I just feel uncomfortable leaving a wet sponge in a plastic bag, even for just a few hours. Like I said before though, it was easy to clean and disinfect so that put my mind at ease a bit.

I’ll never buy pads, tampons, cups, or anything else ever again. I’ve been using these for over 2 years now and they have changed my life.The Good: They don’t leak, they’re discreet, they eliminate odor, my cramps went away, my periods went from 4-5 days to 2.5 days, and I no longer experience ph balance issues after my periods. I can have sex while wearing them and my husband has no clue. I can wear them while swimming, dancing, etc. They can hold ALOT for a very long time with NO leaks. I have laid in bed for 8 hours on my heaviest day with no issues, and I now have white sheets for the first time in my 35 years of life! I trust these sponges more than I trust myself. 😂 As long as you hold your muscles tight when sneezing and squatting, you’re covered!The Bad: And it’s not even that bad… Is that you do have to be able to reach up there to pull it out, and you have to be able to rinse it if you want to reuse it…so you need privacy and to be near a sink to make sure your hands are clean and (of course) to rinse the sponge. Which brings me to “The Ugly”: If you don’t like the site of your own blood, this may not be the product for you. There will be blood… So public bathrooms with multiple stalls can be tricky if there’s no sink in the stall... BUT if you put a new one in right before you leave the house you’ll be good for hours! A hack is to squeeze as much out into the toilet as you can so you can rinse quicker and easier and without making a mess. Also, if you just have to pee really quick and want to use the restroom without removing it or rinsing it, all you have to do is be sure to use your finger to push it all the way back up into place when you’re done, and you’re good to go. The “release” of your muscles while squatting to use the restroom can cause it to drop down too low and leak, so don’t forget to make sure it’s up there good. It takes practice and a little planning but it is sooo worth it. & Like I said, I will never use anything else, and as soon as my menstruating daughter is a little older I will introduce this product to her as well.Quality: I tried purchasing cheaper brands and even plain sea sponges not designed for periods and I was disappointed in the quality compared to this brand. Other sponges are not designed to be used and rinsed and reused constantly and will start to fall apart and turn mushy. They also don’t rinse well and can smell bad. These sponges are designed for period use and it shows. I started off with only 2 and over a year later, they still looked and felt as good as the first day I bought them. I rinse them with feminine wash and peroxide every night, and at the end of my cycle I machine wash them in a mesh laundry bag and air dry them for the next month. I have now purchased 4 more so that I can leave a couple in my car and makeup bag for emergencies.Please try them, you won’t regret it.

I really wanted these to be amazing, but they were not. A bit rougher and more porous than I thought they would be. Maybe OK for very light day in your cycle, but I found them to be too leaky. I decided to go for a menstrual cup.

Excellent product! I would say they've changed my life in very positive ways. For one thing, you can use them during sex when you have your period and your partner will hardly notice them. They are much, much less irritating to fragile membranes than tampons. You can use them for light days and heavy days. Just be sure you cut them to the right size and don't be "put off" by how big and rough they appear at first. After you wet them they are very easy to put in and they become quite soft after using them a couple of times. They are AWESOME for me because I "spot" a lot due to peri-menopause and I can wear these all the time comfortably. PLUS - you are doing a great thing for the planet!
