This book does not read like a technical history but still explains the development of tractors, including many that were not red. For example, it tells whether those early Case telephone-box 4WDs were related to the early Internationals. Steiger is thoroughly covered, even before they were red! There are beautiful color pictures on most pages, particularly for later tractors where Lee can go out and photograph Quadtracs in wonderful landscapes like they are 20 ton swimsuit models. This is a great book both for information and for photos.

Very nice book on 4WD tractors
This book is even nicer than I expected. It is 384 pages of heavy stock with high quality pictures throughout. The book is 10 3/4" high, 12 1/4" wide, and 1 5/8" thick. It covers mostly IH, Steiger, Case, and Case IH, with some coverage of Hough, and Ford and Allis Chalmers tractors made by Steiger. Lots of good information about development and some history going back to late 19th century.
