Before this, I had purchased a couple of plastic badge holders that cost less than $5, and the belt clip eventually snapped off. This badge holder was heavy duty and I thought I had made the right choice. Unfortunately, less than a year after I bought it, the winder stopped working and the cord would no longer retract. I checked to see if it could be opened up in case the winder could be fixed, but the front and back appeared to be welded together. I contacted the company to let them know that I thought the product should have lasted longer than it did, and I asked if they were willing to fix it, but I never heard back from them. I was even more disappointed that they never bothered to respond.
