Purchased this for my 96 lb Great Pyrenees male puppy as an alternative to the cone of shame/satellite dish that he was having to wear on his head. Getting the snuggly on such a big dog is a challenge for sure, and we accomplished it with treats. When we went to wrap between the legs though, it did not adequately cover the incision area from his neuter and he was able to push the snuggly aside to lick the wound. So, I put shorts over top of the snuggly as well, with a hole cut out for the tail. He still tries to lick, but with the two barriers, the wound is more protected. He will still sleep in the cone, because he's a pretty clever boy. I think the snuggly would work really well for a female spay as it does cover the wound. However, she might still want to lick at it. I rated this 4 stars, because I thought "It's okay" was too low. It is a good design, but just won't fully meet the needs of a male neuter.

I bought XLL and XXL because I wasn’t sure on size for my dog. When I called the company they recommended the XXL. My dog was spayed yesterday and I put the XXL on last night after she came home from the vet. This morning she had walked out of it and it was laying on the floor. I now have the XLL on her and it is a snug fit but has stayed on without any problems all day. Just for size reference, my dog is a German Shepherd female, 80 lbs. Her measurements from where neck and shoulders meet to base of tail is 30” and girth behind the front legs is 34”. Hope this helps on size reference for someone else’s dog. My dog hasn’t tried to lick or get at the surgical site so far. Someone mentioned in their review that the edges were not sewn and were just cut. This is not the case on this product. Edges are sewn and the extra seams where there is going to be more movement from shoulder opening to hip/ leg opening is excellent. Plum color is very nice. I’m very pleased with this product so far. The two photos are of both the XLL and XXL to show how they fit. You can see one is very snug but is not tight. The other is looser all around.

My dog had surgery last month, after he chewed up a blanket, and a piece of it caused an obstruction. Since I obviously can’t trust him not to eat things he shouldn’t, he had to be kenneled during the day while we were at work. I did not want his incision to touch the crate pan, and while he had a cone of shame, he was already trying to scratch the incision, so I needed to stop that. I was considering putting booties on his feet, but was afraid one might fall off, and he would chew it.I looked up surgical “shirts”, and stumbled across the Surgi Snuggly. I decided to give it a try, and was so glad I did! It stopped him from being able to scratch at his staples, and kept his incision clean while it healed. Now that he is fully healed, I found a second benefit to it, which is that it keeps him from scratching when he has an allergy flare up. Additionally, since he has decided he is furious about being crated during the day, he started purposely peeing in his crate. I put the Surgi Snuggly on him, figuring that if he really was doing it out of spite, he wouldn’t have accidents if the Snuggly was on. No more accidents. I can’t say enough about this product. He may not be glad we got his “leotard”, but I sure am!PS he would like to respectfully request the large-long be made in a more masculine color. 😉

Our 2 year old shephard mix got spayed and was sent home with the typical "cone of shame". She hated it to the point she she worked herself up to hyperventilating.Found this on amazon (day of her surgery) and bought it just in case the cone didn't work out. Soooooo glad I did! She weighs 36lbs and I went off reviews and a guess on sizing since she was not home. I got the medium. While it fits thanks to the amazing stretch of this fabric (and very high quality) it seems a little tight around the front leg holes. I ordered a large which will arrive tomorrow but in the meantime the medium will work for 1 day while we are at work.She is an anxious fearful dog. Obviously it took a little bit of time to get used to it but she felt happy to move around, be able to see and most importantly it didn't make her shake or feel scared. I definitely recommend this as an alternative to the cone to make ur dogs healing easier and basically stress free :)

First of all, sizing: I have a large German Shepherd (around 90 lbs) and I ordered her an XLL and it fits her perfectly. There is a little bit of flexibility in the sizing as the garment is stretchy and there is an adjustable strap that goes around the dogs belly.Now on to the functionality: My dog has severe hotspots. She will chew herself bloody, to the point that she leaves blood spots on the carpet. Nothing else has worked to keep her from itching them. We used an Elizabethan cone collar but she started using her hind leg to scratch her side, which was actually worse. I put this on her and within days her spots had dried up and started healing. I was worried that it would hold in moisture and cause infection but it is very breathable. I put it on her shortly after a bath and she dried just fine. This product is an absolute life saver. It works like a charm and I know my dog is much more comfortable than she is in a cone.A couple of notes: it is a little difficult to put on the first time but it seems comfortable once it's on. Also, be sure to unfasten the back before letting your dog outside unless you want to deal with a big mess. Overall, we couldn't be happier with this!

Seemed like a quality product, however our Vetrenarian advised us not to use it as the dog could still lick the area and eventually undo stitches. Also licking would wet the area/jacket and could cause infection. We returned the item and are awaiting refund.

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  I ordered the medium long for my American Cocker Spaniel and it fit perfectly! My male puppy was just neutered and he could still reach the incision with the cone. This fit so well and when I could watch him I folded it up so that the would could heal.
