Clear and concise information covering most of what I wanted to know, especially with regard to weight, size and indoor or outdoor suitability

Absolute must if you have one of these tortoises. They are not simple moving garden ornaments and require a good deal of care and attention.

I wanted to read more about habitat and diet and this book provides some good basic information. The book perhaps offers more information on Sulcatas than Leopards though. Also I am in the UK so some specific information about outdoor provision for our weather would be useful.

It has everything in this book l needed to know it covers the very best for the care of your tortoise it is my guide.

Very practical guide for first time giant tortoise owners....Advise to read the book before you commit to such a long-term undertaking!

Since Amazon took over the printing and publishing of books, the quality of everything has gone down, except the price, that seems to have risen considerably. The book is a paper back, surprisingly large print on fairly low quality pulp and there’s lots of space in there, if you were to print it properly in correct size, with normal spacing, it would probably stretch to 40 pages, cut out the bulking and repetition and you would seriously end up with 10 sides at most. A soulless, pointless and fairly ugly feeling book, with little going for it except for a couple of facts that can be googled in 5 minutes anyway. If Amazon are the future of books and this is it, then I’ll have to stick to older, better presented and more treasured books in future.

Useful intro to these dessert species. Really good info on feeding and environment enrichment. A good basic introduction to these interesting chaps

I am a first time leopard tortoise owner and wanted to do everything I could, learn everything to keep my baby healthy. This book is done in an easy language for first timers and has great topics covered for both the Sulcata and the Leopard tortoise. Highly recommend for eith tortoise species owner.
