Stalking Around the Christmas Tree: A Christmas Tree Farm Mystery, Book 4

Favorite Christmas Series
This series is so much fun, it makes me want to play reindeer games. Each book describes several games and has a mystery to figure out while everyone in the story is getting ready for Christmas. I love the quirky characters, the hometown feel of the setting and wrap myself in a blanket to keep away the cold Maine winter the author describes. I always feel as if I am home while reading these books. One more thing to look forward to each Christmas.

Love the book
I love this series of books and pay higher than most ebooks sell for to purchase them. I left a four star rating instead of five for one reason; the author has a problem with continuity in these stories. In book two it's revealed by Libby that her and Evan's dad was a cop who wanted his son in a safer career like teaching, in book four his dad is a teacher. Depending on the book Evan's eyes are green usually or sometimes gray. These mistakes distract from a storyline and are amateurish, other than inconsistency I love the characters and storylines. Hope the series is continued with better editing.

Holly is getting married!
Holly White is back and planning her Christmas Eve wedding to Mistletoe's Sheriff, Evan Gray. The town has had 3 murders in as many years. This year a ballet troupe has been hired to perform The Nutcracker, in hopes of bringing in tourists and changing the town reputation. When the lead dancer is murdered, Holly jumps into action to try to find whodunnit. These characters are like old friends. They're so well developed and connected. I was drawn into the story immediately and felt like I was in Mistletoe with them. Jacqueline Frost, or Julie Anne Lindsey, has a real talent for bringing the story alive with intricate details. I can visualize the Inn and the Hearth Cafe just like I was there. This has lots of twists and "hold your breath" moments. Theodore, the goat, and his "wife hunting" add laugh out loud moments. Don't miss this one!

Another great book in this series!
Wow! It is so nice to be back in Mistletoe, Maine, with Holly and her friends. As there had been a gap of a couple of years since the last book, I was a tiny bit worried about remembering everything. I should have known better. Everything came back clear as day and the few little pieces I missed were nicely filled in by Ms. Frost, without being overly repetitive. In this book, Holly is getting ready for her wedding to Evan Gray, town sheriff, and all around nice guy, but a week before, things are a bit amiss. Evan's sister Libby is closing herself off from her friends and wandering around in strange get ups, and then the prima ballerina from the visiting dance troupe turns up dead on one of the Christmas parade floats. Add to that, rubber rats everywhere, and Holly knows she has to try and figure this nonsense out.I really enjoyed this visit to Reindeer Games and all the wonderful people who stay or visit there. I had no clue until the reveal who the real killer was, and loved the last few scenes of Holly and Evan's wedding. I know I have to wait till next year for the next one in this series, but since Thanksgiving is this week, I'll be grateful there is another one coming and that Jaqueline Frost AKA Julie Anne Lindsey writes such great books!

Engaging, nicely paced plot
Christmas season this year at the Reindeer Games Inn is even more busy than normal. The Inn is hosting a ballet troupe that is performing The Nutcracker in Mistletoe, and the White family is preparing for Holly’s wedding. At the town’s annual holiday parade, the float carrying the lead ballerina, Tiffany, becomes a crime scene as the dancer is found dead within its snow globe. This means that until the killer is found Holly’s wedding celebration will be marred by fiance, Sheriff Evan Gray’s work schedule. Holly puts her sleuthing skills to the test to help Evan solve the murder. This is the fourth book in the Christmas Tree Farm Mystery series. It continues to be engaging with an interesting plot and subplot. The author’s characters are developed and she does a great job introducing new characters. I recommend the book and hope the series will continue.
