This chicken stand works in regular grill able to stand/balance as well as my smoker. Works very well to hang in smoker. Easy to insert. Doesn't giver weird taste. Be sure to oil it before and after use to it doesn't rust.

This review is for the Upgraded Turkey Hanger BBQ-PLUS Store. These are nice turkey hanger/stands that should be plenty strong for any turkey up to 16 to 18 pounds. The weakest point on them would be the threaded connection to the base but as long as you're not abusive it should be fine. Everything appears to be stainless steel and has very clean welds. This is good quality manufacturing.I could see being able to use these for things other than poultry as well. Maybe stacking meat like you would for a vertical rotisserie, shish kebab, or any type of larger roast though you may have to use something sharper to make a hole for these to fit through. This could work for hanging meat over a campfire too.

There are 3 complete roasting stakes in my order. Each stake seperates into 2 pieces. The first piece is the rod portion, which is of a reasonable thickness. It also has a hook on one end, and a toothed straight point at the other end. The hook gives the option to hang the roasting bird over a fire pit, by way of a camping tripod or a roasting spitt.The second piece is the base portion, which has 3 prongs evenly spreading out to form a rest or stopper for the whole bird being prepped for the roasting. The base can be detatched or reattached easily by simply twisting it onto the toothed pointed end of the rod. The rod's teeth do help to grip the base in place. However, upon examination and testing of this function, and in my best understanding of it, the tooth grip is too weak. Far too weak. Unless I am somehow doing it wrong, which does not seem likely, then the slightest bump will slightly but easily loosen the base. A few times of this happening can cause the base to fall off. If that happens, then most likely so does any bird on it. So to prevent this, users will need to double check the base tightness periodically, as well as anytime it's been bumped.Although the metal of this roasting stake is indeed thick enough, heavy duty enough, and made of stainless steel, it is for the weak tooth grip on the base that 1 star is minused. I currently still believe this item to otherwise be of good quality, and to still be reasonably functional for roasting whole birds. So long as users watch out for the base loosening, and correct it as needed, it should still work just fine. So long as it is taken proper care of, and not misused, and is only used for it's intended purpose, then these stakes should last a long time and be plenty strong and durable enough for that task.4 out of 5 stars.

I recently tried out these vertical skewers for cooking poultry, and I have to say, I'm impressed! The set comes with three sturdy, food-grade stainless steel skewers that are perfect for cooking chicken. They have hooks at the top, I believe some people have ovens that can hang from but mine use the three-leg stands which work fine.I decided to give them a go with a whole chicken in my electric oven, placing it on the lowest rack in a pan. The result was fantastic! The chicken turned out juicy. I also did a chicken in the gas grill outside and it also came out well. I'd probably prefer the gas grill version for taste but the electric oven is more convenient and the preheat is faster. I do agree with another reviewer that the skewer might be too short for a turkey, but I only cook chicken so it's not an issue for me.These help you cook a flavorful chicken and the price is very reasonable. Recommended.
