Jabra GN9125 Duo Flex-Boom Wireless Headset for Deskphone

I shopped all over for this unit and found most places selling it for three times this Amazon price. You may find a similar price, but in most cases it was for the headphones only without the base charging unit. Unit is simple to set up and after the initial 90 minute charge, it was ready to go. The clarity of the sound is terrific and the range of the wireless exceeds my expectations. Recommended!

I bought this headset to replace my current Jabra headset I've had for 6 years. It has worked great; the only reason I'm replacing it is because I now need a headset that covers both ears due to noise in the office. Since my current Jabra has been so good, I thought I'd try Jabra again. But it wasn't any good and I returned this one for the following reasons: 1. people couldn't hear me regardless of how high I turned the mic up 2. when I turned the mic up so people could hear me, I heard myself so loudly through the headphones it was difficult to carry on a conversation. So basically, I couldn't seem to get the mic/ear phone volumes balanced so that I could hold conversations comfortably and be heard, no matter how many adjustments I made to get it right. 3. I could hear static on occasion 4. the range wasn't good. On my older Jabra, I could be on my back deck with no problems (my office is in the front of the house), but with this newer Jabra, I could only go half as far before it got static-y. The two pros I can think of were that the mic seemed to do a good job of canceling out ambient noises like taking a sip of coffee. And it was easy to set up. Since I bought the headset from Amazon, it was easy to return. I only had if for a few days before I switched back to my old headset and sent this one back.

On the plus side, unit has excellent range, across a 5,000 square foot house and into the driveway or backyard. Volume is usually very good and speech is clear. On the negative side, there are occasional to frequent annoying buzzes and other noises from some sort of interference. I have moved the base unit all over my desk with no relief. If you get this, try it out for the 30 days per Amazon's return policy. If you suffer more than one or two buzz incidents, return it. If you have none, most likely you will be okay. Side note: You can change the channels on the back of the unit, but the channel letters are either missing or extremely difficult to see. The farthest ones in either direction for the dial (which I am told are channels A and G) usually work the best. Another side note: If you are talking to someone on line 1 of a 2 line phone, and then someone else calls and you put them on hold then return to caller 1, if caller 2 hangs up both lines for caller 1 and 2 are disconnected. This may be a problem for my two line phone or may be something to do with using the headset.

This unit has decent, though not great, sound and the range is consistently good. But, it didn't last. After three years, the sound would go dead during calls, and I would have to give the headset a hard tap to get it going again. For a less-expensive unit, I would be OK with three years of life, but not for this. I just tossed it in the trash (after not using it for a year). Not recommended.

Overall a good product. I had it setup within 10 minutes, and it is very easy to use. It definitely saves me from the aching neck of having a phone pinned between my ear and shoulder. Also, its great to be able to walk around my office and consult a coworker during a phone call, or check our warehouse for inventory. The only problem I have had is every once in a while i will get a weird echo when I receive a call. Its not that big of a deal, but can be annoying at times. I would buy again.

The only reason I bought this was to replace a broken one. We use the old Mitel 4025 phones and they require a handset lifter that works with this device. The lifter assembly is basically taped on with Velcro and tape. Which fails over time. I finally got tired of it and took the phone apart, found locations I could drill holes through, and used some machine screws and nuts to hold it on permanently. As far as the headset goes I don't have many complaints from users (other than the goofy handset mount). If there is noise on the calls we can usually change the channel and the calls are crisp and clear. One fellow walks a good forty feet from the base and does not lose any calls. This is around the corner with a lunchroom between him and the base/charger. That is alot of wire and wall for signal pass thru.

Works well and is easy to setup. The headset is very comfortable and the sound is great. People I have called say I am heard loud and clear.

The sound quality is disappointing. Others on the call state that the microphone sound quality is poor, as it picks up background noise around me. The earphones do not produce a clear sound. The is like a cheap old radio. I have read the adjustment instructions, and nothing helps. One good comment is that the reception continues to be consistent at substantial distances from the base unit.
