Gorgeous
These glasses are absolutely breathtaking. The crystal quality is superb. They are bright and clear and have a nice weight. They just feel good in the hand. I have many Waterford glasses and I would say the quality is just as good. All that said - they are lead crystal. While the lead adds weight and clarity and also adds the ability to cut elaborate patterns into the glass, it can be a health danger. As a precaution to avoid high levels of lead, liquor in a crystal glass should be consumed in a matter of 2 hours and should never be left to sit. (As in a decanter.)These glasses should be washed gently by hand with regular dish soap to avoid damage. The glasses should never go through the dishwasher as this can damage the surface and cause them to potentially leak more lead.Ultimately, I would use these sparingly and only for the most elegant of occasions.

Beautiful glasses that make no mention of the fact that they contain lead on the listing.
I'm in the process of setting up a whiskey and wine bar and thought these glasses would make a lovely addition. Knowing nothing of Reed & Barton before ordering, I just assumed they were immaculate, high-quality glassware that would stand out for serving whiskey. They are immaculate, high-quality glasses, and they're incredibly well made. Unfortunately, NO WHERE ON THE LISTING DOES IT SAY THAT THESE ARE LEAD CRYSTAL OR I WOULD NOT HAVE ORDERED THEM. The material is listed as "glass and crystal". Later, the material is called "glass". It wasn't until I had them in my hands that felt the weight of the box and saw the proud "lead crystal" sticker on the box that I realized that these drinking glasses contain lead.Yay!Canada's Health site has some useful tips on reducing lead and cadmium exposure for those who insist on using lead crystal:1) Soak new crystal in vinegar for 24 hours and rinse thoroughly before use.-Since vinegar is highly acidic, it will leach a lot of the lead from the surface layers of your glassware, meaning less of it will be in your drink. This is also why your great-grandma's well-loved leaded decanter is safer than a new one. Wear gloves. Keep away from kids and pets while soaking.2) Hand wash only with a soft cloth and gentle detergent.-Dishwashers can cause etching, which will cause more lead to release into your beverage.3) Only use leaded glassware for serving, not storage.-Storing food/drink in leaded crystal will cause more leaching.4) Don't use leaded crystal to serve children or pregnant women.-Duh.Following those tips, you should expect far less than .2ppm of lead to leach into your drink over the course of a normal meal. The glasses are absolutely gorgeous. The pattern is elegant, and the glasses feel wonderful in the hands. I'd be wary of using leaded crystal to drink wine, as it's more acidic than whiskey, scotch or bourbon, but it should be safe to enjoy a few fingers of your favorite spirit.

Very nice glasses!
I have a few quite nice decorative pieces by Reed and Barton (they make beautiful crystal and silver ornaments), and I enjoy having a glass of whiskey in the evenings after work. So seeing that Reed and Barton made double old fashioned glasses, I was interested right away in adding them to my liquor cabinet.Presentation wise, they are packaged nicely. Handling them, they have a very nice weight to them. Unlike cheaper, light weight glasses, these have that tell tale weight to them that lets you know they are quality. With a drink in them they are the perfect weight in hand. The cuts in the glass are very well done. The design is neutral with slight masculine feel to them. I'm enjoying these so much that I've been debating whether or not to buy the matching decanter. I usually keep the majority of my whiskeys in the containers they are purchased in. But after handing the glasses in person, I know the decanter would be every bit as nice, so it's tempting!

Gorgeous, but no Proposition 65 warning among other problems
Reed and Barton's Sloane Double Old Fashioned glasses are some of the nicest I own, but I doubt I will ever be using them. As others have noted, these are leaded crystal, giving them one of the heftiest weights I've ever had in a glass this size. These are also a mild health hazard, which is not mentioned at all on the listing here, nor on the box, and only in a sticker on the bottom of the glass; among other problems here by omitting it is that California's Proposition 65 clearly requires this for leaded glass to be sold by mail order. As a glass it's marvelous, but it's also not something you can use without significant prep. 4 stars.

Super Impressive!
It’s really hard to capture in a photo how much these shine in the light. Once I washed them, that was the first thing I noticed that I wasn’t expecting. I guess I’ve never bought real crystal glasses before though. I was just looking for some heavy in your hand bourbon glasses which these definitely are. It really takes sipping on a cocktail to the next level. I’d highly recommend!

The quality is top-notch, with a heavy base and thick walls that make them surprisingly durable. The classic design is timeless, with a beautiful diamond pattern cut into the glass. I love the extra touch of elegance that it adds to every drink.Absolutely exquisite! Highly recommended! 5 stars!

Gorgeous crystal whiskey glasses , NOT PACKAGED WELL
I was so sad to find one of these gorgeous glasses broken in shipment. The glasses were only wrapped in a thin layer of tissue paper inside the box. These are a beautiful addition to any bar. Heavy, excellent quality, elegant crystal glassware.

A good drink always tastes better in a good glass
My dad has always said a good drink tastes better in a good glass. When the Reed and Barton 894596 Sloane Double Old Fashioned set arrived I immediately tried them out. My dad was right. These glasses are as stunning as I expected being from the Reed and Barton company. The pattern provides enough texture to make the class feel comfortable and secure in my hand. The crystal is good quality with weight over one pound per glass and it feels cool and smooth every time I take a drink. Overall, I am very pleased with the quality of this set.
