Can't Stop Eating Them! *by K***D on February 24, 2018* I'm a self professed snack-a-holic. I love to snack and usually to the detriment of my waistline when it's late a night and I just need something crunchy - oh the struggle! Chips, crackers and popcorn are my usual go to but in the spirit of trying to make this snacking habit of mine slightly more heathy, I tried the veggie chips variety on the market. Although not bad, they are typically greasy, over salty and sometimes too hard. After searching around, I found TwelVita on Amazon and decided to give it a shot. I was a little skeptical at first because they were baked and I was afraid the texture as going to be too dry and flat (cardboard). Somehow, the happy medium is always hard to achieve. Either the snack is tasty - but fried, salty and greasy OR baked - dry and taste too healthy to trick my brain into liking it. So how did TwelVita do?Here are my thoughts:1st impression: Arrived quickly and on time. Packaging is great. Love how it is resealable. Great to put in a lunch bag, purse or gym bag for an on the the go snack. The oyster mushroom and okra are a good size! I wasn't expecting them to be as large as the were and they actually looked like what they say they are! (See my photos)Packaging is clear and easy to understand as far as fiber, sodium, protein content, non gmo, gluten free, no pesticide etc. The description verbiage could use some reworking though.Taste: Simple - salt, a little sugar, white paper. No big bold taste here if you are into that sort of thing like bbq or spicy sriracha. I actually prefer the simplicity since I like to taste the actual food I am eating and not all the enhanced flavors to cover up the actual vegetable. Because of the simplicity, I think it will better appeal to more people across different age groups, including kids. The white pepper definitely adds a nice flavor profile and I particularly think that combo is a win with the mushroom (my current favorite slightly over the okra). It is not overly salty (like other brands on the market), not greasy and has a nice crunch. It definitely DID NOT taste like cardboard and was not overly seasoned to compensate for the "healthier" baked process as there was nothing to compensate for since it was naturally delicious! I only wish there was a more in a bag! Once you start, it will be hard to stop. At 150-170 calories per bag/serving, I won't be as guilt ridden polishing off one of these bags during a late night snack attack aforementioned.I do wish that the manufacture would omit soybean oil from the process for those that have sensitivity, allergies or just trying to avoid it. Price point is a bit high, but perhaps a subscribe and save option would offer discounts and better incentives in the future?I would definitely buy again and recommend these to friends and family! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely premium quality at a very good price. *by T***R on February 14, 2018* I've been getting dried okra chips from Trader Joe's, but they are seasoned too heavily and somewhat too oily, which defeats the purpose of eating healthy veggie chips. That's often the case with most dried veggie chips on the market. Even though the good price (cheaper than Trader Joe's) of these TwelVita chips made it enticing for me to try them, I did concern about the seasoning/oily when I placed the order. AND THEY TURN OUT TASTE GREAT! The seasoning is very light, allowing for tasting the real flavor and texture of the veggies. And the manufacture uses really PREMIUM QUALITY produce for making the chips. Check out my pictures and see how big those okra and oyster mushrooms are! All the okra in are at least 2 inch long, and some of them surpass 3 inches. Not to mention the gigantic oyster mushrooms I found.On the package it reads "Proudly made in Taiwan". I love that! Food is not like electronics and I am cautious about where a food product is made. When it comes to safe handling of food items I know Taiwan is trustworthy.Did I mention kids love them as much as adults? I wish Amazon will soon have subscribe-and-save option for these chips because I for sure will order them on a regular basis. Following doctors’ orders, I try to add more veggies in my diets. After a friend recommended this product to me, I thought these chips would be a good way to Increase my veggie intake. I like the cruchy texture, though the chips are a little too salty. These okras tasted more like chips than veggie and that is a good thing for me.
