Perfect!
My previous Philips shaver has lasted years, and was for me the best shaver I have ever owned. When it gave up, I bought a Remington as a replacement, and it was awful. So, looking online I spotted this model on offer and bought it. I can honestly say that it is brilliant! I've only used it once, but it works very well. It's a clean shave, no tearing out hairs, cuts very well and leaves my skin smooth and not sore. Charges very fast and great to have a battery indicator, and also being a usb charger makes it goo for travelling. Overall, very pleased and can recommend this shaver.

Good & reliable
This is the 3rd Philips shaver I've had over about 40 years. The last one still works, holds it charge well & could have been serviced to go on. But I decided on this similar replacement which seems to be the same quality, so I'm pleased so far

A Close(ish) Shave
I've had two Philips AquaTouch AT899 shavers over the past decade; both of which gave a brilliant shave, but both of which also failed on me at various points. The 3000 series appears to be the closest equivalent, which at £60 (compared to the £40 or so I'd previously spent per razor) seems to be their current entry range for a wet & dry shaver. The 3000 is bigger/taller but slimmer than the AT899, but overall a similar design and nice to hold. I usually use it in the shower with foam or gel. In terms of performance, on initial impressions, it doesn't offer quite as smoother shave as the older AT899, which felt almost as close as a typical cartridge razor. The 3000 gives a pretty rough dry shave, though it does give a more satisfactory wet shave, which for me is its main purpose. It is adequate for the job - though it doesn't feel like an upgrade, despite the higher price tag. It is a comfortable shave; no burn or pulling, and the motor's not too loud either. The position of the power button is more central on the body (on the AT899, it was easy to accidentally switch it off during mid-shave), so I'm still getting used to this lower location. Its only physical design flaw is the button to open the head is less discreet and more prominent; it was ideally positioned on the AT899, slightly hidden under the head, whereas now it's much easier to flip it open even when removing or replacing the cap. The sideburn trimmer pops out and does exactly what you'd expect. One main difference is this comes with a USB charging cable, rather than the traditional two-prong shaver plug (and the fitting is such that it will only work with the USB cable), and it charges pleasingly fast. In the box, you get a cap and a fabric travel bag for it, but there's no little brush, like what you used to get. Overall, it seems like a well-made and decent product for its price bracket - I can't bring myself to spend in excess of £100 or more on a higher model (what kind of nonsense are those prices?!), so I think for a day to day electric razor, it fits the bill nicely, even though I still preferred the results of past models.

Good shaver that’s value for money.
Purchased this one to replace my Phillips 7 shaver which I have used for well over 30years and still gives a reasonable shave. So for I am pleased with my new one it’s well balanced, easy to hold and gives a fairly close shave. If it gives me the same service as my previous one I will be well pleased.

Great electric shaver
Excellent electric shaver. Works well and very easy to keep clean - just under running water and leave to dry. Long life battery charge. Shaves my face very well with no issues. Recommended.

Pick of the range for value, works well.
When you've had a really good product, sometimes all you want is to be able to buy the same again. This is the second 3000 series Philips shaver I've owned; the one I have just replaced with this S3241/12 was an essentially similar 'Williams F1' version I have had since 2010. The charger on the old one is damaged so I decided to replace it. Nothing wrong with the shaver at all. Further to its credit the battery is still good at 14 years - I should say I have had periods of beard wearing and ordinary wet shaving since so it didn't actually provide 14 years of full daily shaving! The new 3000 series is styled slightly only differently, and is fully waterproof for use wet or dry, unlike the old one which was simply rinseable for emptying/cleaning. Otherwise it is extremely similar, including the built in trimmer which flips out. The 'floating' heads are now called '5D Pivot & Flex' and the whole cutter assembly pivots on the body of the shaver, but otherwise appears to work exactly like the old ones. This is, if anything, reassuring as it is nothing if not proven technology. The new 3000 series shaver does provide a slightly better shave than its 14 year-old ancestor. In part perhaps due to being new, but the cutter guards have also changed slightly in that the new shaver's are just slotted, whereas the older model had both slots "for longer hairs" and holes "for short stubble" to quote the blurb. Charging on the new shaver is done with a special lead provided, which has a USB-A connector (like a phone charging cable) on one end and a Philips connector on the other. No actual charger is provided, presumably because it is assumed that we all have them (I do). I have just charged the new shaver from my laptop. It took maybe half an hour to charge from 1 blob to 3 (full). There's a whole new range of Philips shavers at the top end of the range now with prices rising into the hundreds of £. Styling on those is what I call "Dysonised", more technical-looking. Perhaps the venerable 3000 series will disappear at some point but for now, at about £60-£65, it looks like a bargain to me (the version I bought in 2010 cost £88 ). Recommended. Follow up: After 15 days use, it is about half discharged so battery endurance looks good. I have tried shaving in the shower using gel, which is OK but doesn't seem to make much difference to the result. Still happy.

All you need in a shaver
I had a Philips shaver 5000 series many years ago and changed to wet shaving with razorblades. After a while it became very costly. So I bought a Braun foil razor that I tried for 6 months but had to stop due to hefty irritation of my skin. Now Im back to Philips with this 3200 series and it is wonderful. It shaves so much better than a foil razor, at least with my beard. Its quiet, comfortable and smooth. Very happy with the performance and quality of this razor. It works just as well as a more expensive one, this razor is all you need.
