Review: Love them. I have large ears (and head) they ... - TLDR: Love them. I have large ears (and head) they fit me perfectly. I would buy these again in a heart beat with out hesitation. Pros: Large. They go around my ear, making the entire pad a contact surface not creating a pressure point. There is no pressure on any part of my ear. Soft. The memory foam feels good, the pleather is high quality, and soft. Looks good (for the size). Increased Sound Stage. (drivers are further from your ear) Cons: Very slight loss of Bass. (drivers are further from your ear) Nothing the Manufacturer can do about that other than make the pads less thick... but then you're back in the same boat as the OEM pads... This bass drop was very very slight for me. Others have claimed ZERO bass. I didnt' have this issue. Honestly, it's barely noticeable for me. But I have large ears, and the pads are sealing well for me, so perhaps their heads are shaped differently and they aren't getting a good seal. Headphones fall off my head more easily.. ESP while looking down at my feet. (getting something out of a backpack for example) I ordered white. The material that allows it to attach to the headphone is an off white cream color. I wish it was the same color as the rest of the pad. It looks out of place. Other thoguhts: I'm already self conscious about wearing these headphones around (ATX M50x) because of the size. I feel like people look at me and think "what is this guy wearing"... well these pads just make that worse. They are absolutely HUGE now. I have custom IEMs that I wear when i'm out and about mainly because of sound isolation and looks. I prefer the sound of over ear headphones over IEMs but if you're wearing these around a lot then it may be something to consider... maybe I shouldn't care what others think. I had them on for about 4 hours straight the first day I got them with very little ear fatigue. After an hour break, had another 3 hour session and my ears weren't hurting. I've worn them about 5-6 hours a day for a week and it's amazing how improved the comfort is. I couldn't wear the headphones (ATH M50x) for more than 2 hours before with out my ears hurting and me constantly adjusting the headphones trying to relieve pressure points. Now I have no issues. The attached photos use my 15" RMBP for a size reference, as well as the carrying bag included with my ATH-M50x.
Review: Comfort was what made me buy these... - ...some how, I wish I could remember the guy who recommended this, if you are out there my friend, I salute you; you are amazing... Okay, I have bought headphones in ear and outer ear headphones for years, I have a wish list, but for now I was looking for a good pair of everyday head phones, I found them, Sony DJ Style Headphones MDR-V55/BR (robust, simple, far better than inner ear headphones and good enough for all things, movies to music). Everything the reviewers said was true, two things I ignored, the length of the cord and the way the ear cups sit on your actual ear. So yes, it would be great to have more length, but the flat red cord is awesome (I can live with that), but what I couldn't live with is how sore the ear cartilage and general area around the ear got/gets when wearing the headphones, it is painful. I can usually put up with stuff, but it was not a joy to listen to good headphones with this sort of discomfort for long periods... Okay, so just as I thought, well, let's buy another set of headphones that do not sit directly on my ear, the genius I wish I could give credit to for showing me the link and video on youtube for 'Brainwavz replacement memory foam earpads came along... I was really nervous, because the Sony headphones were not on the list he was reviewing, because of the discomfort, I just took a chance, the price was worth the risk... I put on the replacement set today, and the first thing I said to myself, wa-what? This not only looks good, was easy to refit, (find a video on youtube, that's why I knew what to do), but it was amazing, the new look changed my headphones to look like an expensive pair of headphones... Just to check, I only put on one cup first, I then put them on my ear to compare the replacement and the original cup, it was ridiculous, the comfort level made me smile - GREAT CHOICE - really glad I took the risk... So as expected, I replaced both, so here is the review in short, if you want comfort, buy Brainwavz replacement memory foam ear-pads... They look amazing, it makes me wonder if this is all companies do to turn a lower priced head phone into a higher priced etc... Lastly, all my previous headphones after time flake and then you are left with cloth and foam that looks like a snake has shed his skin; so there will be no flaking on these... Brainwavz ear pads are designed for comfort and style, with the outer material made from high quality Protein PU Leather and the inner padding made from high grade memory foam. If you want to make good headphones better, do it; I am so happy I did... ## Questions & Answers

**Q: Will it fit on ATH-900x's?**
A: If the Headphone Cup Measurements of the ATH-900x's match the dimensions of the Replacement earpads (within a margin of +/- 2 mm), then these would fit. The Brainwavz Replacement Earpad's Dimensions are 110/90*70/50*30mm

**Q: Will these fit on the Audio Technica ATH-M40x?**
A: People have put them on M50's so they should fit M40x's. http://imgur.com/a/30otj I had the same question until I saw that post.

**Q: Will these fit on the Beyerdynamic DT 770's?**
A: Yes they will. I have them on by DT 770 80 ohm set. They are a bit snug to get on. (Think like a steering wheel cover) I found them much more comfortable than the default ones. They provide better sound isolation too. Give them a few weeks, and the foam really molds for a great fit.

**Q: Will these fit on the Sennheiser HD 280's?**
A: With a bit of patience and dexterity, yes. They are quite comfy, though they certainly change the soundscape of the 280s. The drivers are going to sit further away from your ears, and that will make the headphones sound a bit more open. I bought the hybrid models, and have noticed the bass drops off at lower volumes, which I somewhat expected. The comfort was my primary concern however, so I won't be reverting to the stock ear pads anytime soon.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ These pads are definately better than the stock Audio-Technica ATH-M50xBT and the ATH-M20xBT
*by L***N on March 19, 2021*

First of all, I am a retired High School Band Director. I listen very critically to music with my earphones. I have been using Audio-Technica Earphones continuously for the last 15 years. First with the ATH-M40fs and most recently my new Audio-Technica ATH-M50xBT. The reason is for the excellent sound they produce. It has never been for their comfort. Actually, the stock ear pads on both models appear the same. They both are equally uncomfortable. I wear glasses and they both sit somewhat on my ears because they are just too small to sit over my ears. I received my new ATH-M50xBT Earphones only a couple of weeks ago. I am thrilled with them because they sound great. Also they have Bluetooth so I don't need to be tied to the music source with a long cable. I discovered through the internet that the ear pads are replaceable with upgraded pads. I also discovered that I am not the only person that find the stock ear pads uncomfortable. Thanks to Amazon, I was able to research all of the upgraded ear pads and read all of the reviews. I finally decided on the Brainwavz Ear Pads in PU Leather and I am glad I did. These pads are very comfortable and they cover my ears which also blocks out the ambient sound around me and keeps the music from leaking out and disturbing others. I am very happy with the sound of my earphones with these new pads. There was a slight change in sound from the stock pads. I actually like the sound better due to the over the ear pads and because my ears are further from the speakers. You have to understand, I am a retired band director and I love live music. I want to hear the instruments as if I was in amongst the band members. I don't like my music distorted with equalizers. It surprised me that there were so many complaints from others of poor sound quality. It could be the equalizer issue or maybe it is due to how their equalizer is set. I have no complaints. I like these replacement pads so much I plan on buying another set of these pads for my M40fs earphones. Well I went ahead and purchased the Audio-Technica ATH-M20xBT. The sound is great but again they had the same ear pads as the 50s. I began to have problems with fatigue and discomfort with the ear pads. Therefor, I ordered the Brainwavz Ear Pads in PU Leather. What a pleasant difference in comfort and much less fatigue. The sound is better as well. I added a few more photos. I am definitely sold on Brainwavz Ear Pads.
