ApotheCARE Essentials The Replenisher Moisturizing Cleansing Conditioner, Vanilla, Argan Oil, Sweet Almond, 16 oz

I've been using a cleanser conditioner for about 3 years, Tried many because I'm sorry but "Wen" is ridiculously overpriced, and more importantly I don't like the scents they offer. So my search began. I loved a couple of the store options ie; Herbal Essence (white bottle), Loreal. They worked great, but then poof! they are not available.. But this..the ApotheCARE- I LOVE! And man! So does my hair ! I have medium thick wavy/curly, grey- I mean... Color treated hair. I shampoo thru once, add a bit for extra conditioning after, rinse w/ cool water and wooo hooo! Soft, shiny responsive.I love this stuff! My hairdresser agrees!

I have never been more happy with a product for my hair! I had dry and damaged hair from too much bleach and coloring, but this conditionee has done wonders for me. I can actually run my fingers through my hair again while its wet, but before i couldnt get a brush through it wet or dry! It was killing my self esteem. Also, it states that this product is meant for curly frizzy hair and i have fine straight hair! Ill never use anything else!

At first I really liked this product because it smelled amazing. My hair is really healthy but lately felt a little dry. This product felt moisturizing and it felt nice in my hair. But after using it several times my scalp got really itchy. I read that your scalp can have an adjustment period after using sulfates for so long when you go to non-sulfate cleansers. Your scalp can become really oily during the adjustment period too. This has happened to me before with other sulfate free shampoos but it’s never gotten so itchy to the point it felt like I had lice. My hair got drier and more brittle. I couldn’t comb it without a crap ton of hair coming out. My scalp was also super oily, but I thought it was the adjustment period. Well, finally I couldn’t take it anymore and I had to use a sulfate shampoo. I felt like my scalp would burn off from how much scratching I did one night going to bed. Now I’m using a different sulfate free shampoo and my hair has gotten softer and looks so much healthier. The new sulfate free shampoo also has oils like Argan oil and Jojoba.I don’t know why this product didn’t work for me but I do know coconut oil doesn’t agree with my hair. I thought maybe it was a one off chance when I used a different shampoo with coconut oil, but this confirmed my hair does not like coconut oil. It makes it dry and brittle. My hair is low porosity and thick, which I heard sometimes doesn’t get along with my hair type. It could be possible another ingredient irritated me, but I’ve never been allergic to any hair ingredients before. My theory is it wasn’t cleansing enough for me so my dead skin cells and dirt from being outside and working out built up. All I know is I’m much happier with my new shampoo.

UPDATE: I recently wrote a positive review for this product, that I very much regret now. Rather than deleting the review, I am providing this new information.At the time I purchased this cleansing conditioner, a 16 ounce bottle sold for a very reasonable $7.01. However, soon after I provided a positive review, people began gouging customers, now asking $18.99 for this same 16 ounce bottle.I liked this particular product, but I need to emphasize, it is ABSOLUTELY NOT WORTH paying nearly three times the price I originally paid for it. Really, all these cleansing conditioners are very similar, and there are many other brands on Amazon that work as well as this brand.Even my original positive review doesn't tell the whole story, because the effectiveness of any of these cleansing conditioners has more to do with how your particular hair responds to the level of cleansing vs. conditioning in the product. If your hair is more course, perhaps you need more cleansing, but if your hair is finer and more prone to dryness, you need more conditioner.A product I would recommend instead of this brand would be the Renpure line of cleansing conditioners. Renpure is very similar to this brand, and it has never varied much in price over the last few years I have been testing these products.Also, there are at least a dozen other brands I haven't tried yet. I find it is always fun to try new brands.I would appreciate it if everyone reading this review would do me a favor and boycott any sellers attempting to sell ApotheCARE cleansing conditioner at three times the normal rate. Please vote with your feet, and don't let gouging become a profitable business on Amazon. If the price for the 16 ounce is from seven to ten dollars, buy it, but if it goes any higher, just walk away.FOR NOW, I'LL LEAVE MY ORIGINAL REVIEW IN PLACE:I realized today, I was ordering my fourth bottle of Apothecare. I guess I've found the right one.I've already tried Wen, and it was too drying and way too expensive. I've tried Renpure, and it wasn't bad. I know I've tried a few others, but I can't remember the brands.Everyone's hair is different, so you'll still have to try it out and see if it works for you. But for me, this brand is the perfect balance. Right after I wash and blow-dry my hair, it's light and bouncy and not overly dry or frizzy.Sometimes I don't rewash my hair for a day or two. Interestingly, this is when I really notice the quality of this product. My hair is so shiny, I'm surprised when I see it in the mirror. And my hair stays really filled out and thick, instead of becoming straggly.With one of the other brands, I started feeling rough patches on my scalp (so I quit using it). But with this Apothecare brand, my scalp feels very soft and smooth all over. There isn't any irritation or product buildup. And I've been using it for a couple months now, so I think I trust it not to harm my hair or scalp.I would recommend trying this brand.

I've been attempting the Curly Girl Method for the past two months and had switched to using only co-washes and conditioners. I had used both As-I-Am Coconut Co-Wash and Cantu Complete Conditioning Co-wash with no problems when I decided to try this product and purchased two bottles.By the time I had finished the first bottle and started the second, my scalp was extremely itchy and flakey. I was so desperate that I grabbed the nearest dandruff shampoo, which had both sulfates and silicones. My scalp felt better after 3 days, but my hair was frizzy and dry and my curl pattern undefined. This cleansing conditioner made my hair look good, but it doesn't clean the scalp properly. I don't normally have a dandruff problem, I would use dandruff shampoo about once or twice a month in the past for occassional itchiness and never had as much flaking as when using this product.

Empecé a usarlo hace unas semanas porque llevo años batallando con los resultados que me da cualquier shampoo, tengo el cabello ondulado a la cintura, grueso, de raíces grasas y puntas secas, mucho frizz siempre. Hace un par de años empecé a probar no lavándolo todos los días, lo que me ha ayudado con el frizz (y probando toda clase de productos para evitarlo); sin embargo, aún usando shampoo en seco entre lavadas, siempre sentí que el cuero cabelludo se me cubría de grasa y me olía mal. Había leído del co-wash y decidí intentarlo por primera vez con este producto por las reseñas. Estoy encantada hasta el momento, si bien no me deja el cabello suave y muy manejable como mencionan muchas, siento el mismo resultado en limpieza que con un shampoo (sigo sin lavarlo diario) y la diferencia de cantidad de grasa en raíces entre lavadas, es impresionante. Seguiré probando con otras marcas, pero este me encanta.

Huele super rico, se siente muy bien y se enguaja fácil. No tira tanto el cabello como otros acondicionadores.

It’s a really great moisturising product. It was a little too moisturising for my fine hair (made it a bit greasy) so I gave it to a relative who has 4A hair and she loved it!
