Top notch, high-quality, great tarp/tent poles. Very versatile.
Top notch, great tarp/tent poles. High quality & very versatile. I have used these over & over for several years on camping trips. They are strong (for telescoping poles). With the rubber cap, they can be used in the center of tarps without puncture. They will support a lot of weight. I see a few reviews that show poles broken in half. These are hollow, light, telescoping poles. If substantial horizontal pressure is put on them - yes, at some point they will snap - like any other thin horizontal pole. They are not solid pipes and not intended to be. They will likely withstand forces that other similar telescoping poles will not. If you intend to use them fully extended in 20+ mile an hour winds at the beach or in the desert, then you can expect them to break. Its not a flaw. Get yourself some pipe or conduit if you need that kind of support; and/or add more guy lines. For supporting tarps & tents while camping and keeping sun or rain off of you, these work great and will last. The only problem I've ever had was the telescoping function 'sticking' after the poles become muddy/dirty. This is to be expected and is easily solved by cleaning with water. I should also mention that I've never had any problem with the telescoping sections 'slipping' at all.

good product
these are great. they don't hold heavy canvas well when fully extended as they start to bow, but shorten them a little at each section and the hold very well. they pack well and seem well constructed. will likely purchase these again.

I was particularly impressed by their ability to hold up my tarp even during strong winds, providing a secure and reliable shelter. No more worrying about sudden gusts of wind ruining my outdoor experience! Another aspect that sets the GREEN ELEPHANT Telescoping Tarp Poles apart is their telescoping design. This feature allows for easy adjustment of the pole height, making them suitable for a wide range of setups. Whether I needed to create a cozy low-hanging shelter or a spacious high-tent, these poles provided the flexibility I needed. Excellent poles, read this review before returning these poles.
These poles are great. Some reviewers are having problems unlocking the poles once they are extended. Here is the trick. When locking and unlocking the poles, you actually turn the pole itself to lock and unlock, not the small knob that you would normally twist and turn to lock and unlock a pole. These poles are the opposite of, say extension poles for painting, where you turn the small knob to lock or unlock the pole. So to lock and unlock these poles, hold the pole by the small knob and turn and twist the actual pole (shaft) itself, then it works like a charm. The maker of these poles would save a ton of problems and returns if they just added an instruction sheet with the poles explaining the correct way to lock and unlock them. Don't know why they don't. Because of this I am only given them 4 stars due to the lack of directions. The product is very well make, sturdy, nice materials, works extremely well. I would highly recommend these. A tad pricey but worth it. Hundred times better than most tarp poles you buy.

Sturdy poles plus stakes, rope, and a tarp equal robust camping cover goodness
I used four of these telescoping poles along with a 10x10 foot Aqua Quest Guide tarp, eight stakes (two per pole) and Nite Ize Reflective Cord to tie each pole from tip to ground at two points each. The result was exceptionally stable in heavy wind, bright sun, high 90's temps, and light nighttime rain along the Metolius River for a wonderful week of camping. The poles were easy to telescope up to the desired height and tighten to ensure a slip-free extension, on the first try without consulting instructions. The diameter of even the smallest pole section was sufficiently large to ensure that the entire pole length when extended to eight feet high had zero wobble. This enabled me to tighten the ropes with simple double half hitch knots to pull the corners of the tarp nice and taut. Even after four days of camping, the tarp remained taut and the poles showed no sign of slipping. The rubber bottoms also held firmly against the sandy ponderosa pine forest floor. I especially liked the easy-tighten turn expansion lock on the pole segments that had a nice ergonomic feel to them. Aesthetically, they look great especially with the snazzy silicone round slide-on tips that cover the stainless steel screw on tips that fit into the tarp's corner holes. I was surprised by how light-weight the poles were given their healthy bulk. Although I wouldn't likely hike these in for miles, they were excellent given the "Glamping" that I did with the car just 500 feet away. They telescoped down to a length that was short enough to comfortably fit into my modestly sized rooftop Thule bag, with length room to spare at the ends. These poles together with the tarp packed to a much smaller size than a pop-up canopy tent, yet capably performed the same desired function, providing exceptional relief from the sun to the labrador retriever puppy dog's crate and playpen for a stretch of days without any muss or fuss. Note: Their customer service was excellent. They recently began including the silicone round slide-on tips with the poles. The first set I ordered was before this addition. I wrote a brief email to them and within less than 24 hours they responded and had pair in the mail free of charge that arrived in time for my next camping trip.

Great poles !!!
I bought these poles for a wilderness camping trip last weekend. Poles are lightweight, easily adjustable and worked very well. A little flimsy/bendy at full extension, but I guess that’s to be expected. I chose to use them at about 7ft and they were rock solid. The storage bag is nice. Just make sure you alternate the poles up/down in the bag. I think the most valuable option they offer is that you can quickly adjust them to meet changing weather conditions/needs. I really needed a 5th pole for my setup, but made do with a long stick. I’ll be buying a set of 2 poles to complete my setup needs. If you need tarp poles, buy these 100%.

Excellent quality.
These are highly recommended by many hikers and campers. I like the fact that they don't have all the extra little extra features like yellow caps and hooks sticking out the sides. Just plain and simple.

Sturdy and robust
This tarp pole is great - it is extremely thick and feels quite solid. It’s quick to deploy with the twist and lock mechanism, which feels pretty secure once you’ve twisted it into place. I really appreciate the flexibility in being able to shorten / extend based on need - in my picture I have the pole around 6.5’ high so I can stand underneath my tarp. I’ve also used it at its shorter height when I just want to sit underneath the tarp. I also appreciate that the tip that goes through the tarp grommet is smooth at the bottom, but textured at the top - this prevents the guy line / tarp from migrating “up” the tip due to wind. Overall very happy with this purchase!

Amazing! Get the 4 pack!
Amazing poles. Buy the 4 pack as you will find ways to use them. They securely lock, have a lightning cover on the top, super strong. I used them for my tarp and was really impressed. You will regret only getting the 2 pack so get the 4 pack. They don’t take up much space when they’re in the bag. Would buy again in a heartbeat.

Great poles for camping
Very nicely built. No issues with them staying in place once they are extended

Solid product...almost like these people have been camping before
These are everything I needed in a tarp pole. I didn't even think of it, but the caps on top enabled my structure to survive an unexpected windstorm by making sure the tarp didn't lift off the pole.
