Some minor issues that can honestly be overlooked; great game
Although it's not without it's flaws, like some graphical issues and the lock picking (it's seriously easier to pick locks in real life than it is in this game), this is still a great game. There's no magic, no dragons, you're aren't chosen by the Outsider, you're not the Dragonborn, and at the beginning, literally everyone is better than you at pretty much everything. You are not special; you're the survivor of a historically accurate attack on a small village (Skalitz), and now you're trying to make your way in the world. It's really a lot of fun, but also incredibly time consuming. To save the game, you either need to drink a Savior Schnapps, sleep, or make progress in certain quests. A lot of people on here have been whining about this, but this is actually a good thing. The save mechanism in this game forces you to either live with your immoral choices, or reevaluate them before you even make them. While on a quest to retrieve some items for an Old Whore (I'm not being facetious, that was her name), I had to steal a dagger from her ex husband. While retrieving it I got caught by him, so I knocked him unconscious and put him in his pantry. Then his new wife saw me, so she went in the pantry too. On my way out, one of his neighbors saw me, so I ended up leaving the house with three unconscious people in the pantry, and I seriously had a moment of "I guess this is the kind of person I am"I would absolutely buy another game from War Horse again

Not worth it.
Game itself is good, but my PS4 version is really screwed up. Buggy. Lots of wasted time. I have played for many hours and am quitting because it screws up constantly. I do not recommend.Update - decided to give it one more chance and it crashed yet again. Really, really annoying. There have been games I have bought and played for under an hour and decided I didn't like. Just personal preference, no regrets. This game I DID like, but honestly wish I never bought it. This is the most frustrating game by far I have ever owned. Might be a PS4 thing but I am beyond frustrated with this thing.

A really fun non-fantasy RPG
No game is perfect and this one has its share of bugs which are being addressed And patches coming shortly. People who have only played it a few hours or just a couple of days need to realize that the clunkiness they’re talking about goes away as you get better at everything you do including archery sword fighting horse riding etc. I myself in the game use exclusively bow and arrow and am pretty adept with it now. This game is a lot of fun and again remember you skill up in most things you do and another thing is that everything you do usually has a consequence so if you do anything that’s let’s say a tad off color, make sure there’s no guards are witnesses around!

Junk
I bought this as a Christmas gift early (we're serving overseas and gifts can take months to reach us). When he opened it this morning, it took almost an hour to load before crashing and failing. The disc is garbage, there's a divot in it that prevents it from playing. So I paid a lot of money for junk we can't even get to load. Thanks and Merry Christmas. :( Now he's sulking because he didn't get anything and we're all in a bad mood because of it. You ruined Christmas, seriously. Please check your stuff before you sell it.

KCD: Like a religious heretic following a botched beheading, a good thing subject to awful execution
Playing Kingdom Come Deliverance was an reminder that getting things quickly is not always for the best. The game on launch was a mess and that was after a day one patch that was larger than the base game itself. And that still didn't stop numerous bugs, some of which were game-breaking, and I still have yet to compete the game due to them, one of which was patched only for me to encounter another one mission later. while I won't lie and say the bugs haven't led to amusing scenarios on occasion, you could easily find a sandbox rpg with an entertainingly broken world for a lot less than the 60 dollar retail price I paid for KCD.But even disregarding the technical issues, the game is flawed on many levels, a lot of the characters lack engaging or interesting personalities (I've encountered perhaps two characters who felt like they actually enriched the game in any way world and for an RPG, that's abysmal) and the story feels like it isn't taking advantage of it's setting or perspectives in any unique or interesting way. for example, part of the story involves you taking part in a siege, but it never feels like it takes advantage of the little known and interesting aspects of siege warfare to craft something unique and interesting instead framing it in generic missions and objectives. it talks briefly about the religious conflicts occurring at the time but again doesn't do anything unique or interesting with it. the swordplay is interesting but due to it's lock-on system devolving into chaos when facing more than one enemy and the sheer difficulty of pulling off combos and counters on any enemy with a vested interest in living, combat becomes equally insufferable. and finally Archery. Archery, something that could break up the monotony of chaotic swordfights and lend itself to other possible playstyles, disastrously implemented to the point when you have to level it up a quarter way to max to even be able to hold the bow steady for more than 5 seconds. on one outing, I had to hunt rabbits and the glitch god took pity on me and had a rabbit get stuck in the bushes in a way that I could still shoot arrows at it but it couldn't run away. I still couldn't do it, I shot at least 30 arrows from 10 feet away and missed every one. in addition to the bows apparently requiring the breath control of a special forces sniper to even hope to hold steady, you have little sense of distance or trajectory and not even an 100% grasp on the angle of your shot due to the way you hold the damn thing. I don't care if it's as faithful to the real thing as possible, at the end of the day, a game is intended for enjoyment and struggling to perform the most basic feat in a way that's as rage inducing as the above situation doesn't lend itself to a positive experience. when you thank every god you can think of that the mission allows you to fail and continue with the story, revisit your gameplay. In summation, KCD is a frustrating experience of constantly trying to find the good in what should have been a realistic rpg depicting a historical setting as closely as humanely possible, a journey bogged down constantly by boring characters, a generic story, often functional at best gameplay and bugs that seemingly operate to prolong your struggle to find the enjoyment whenever possible. whatever you do, don't spend 60 bucks on this, the developers clearly weren't willing to spend the time to make it a 60 dollar game. buy a game of the year version of it marked down to 20 bucks or less a few years later on PSN based on a vague idea of what it was and what it promised because that is a much more healthy mindset than the one I had when playing this waste of time.

For history buffs
I am not a gamer, just a history buff. This game was tremendous. The gameplay was awkward at times, some of the quest elements impossible to figure out because of glitches, but those were few. It is a long game with a compelling storyline, and the historicity is above and beyond any video game I've played to date. Looking forward to the next one!
