Looks great, works well
Love this composter! Looks great and is pretty easy to install. Only down side is that because it’s not airtight, we need to add water in summer weeks or the grass cuttings just turn to straw. Also, sitting near it when a fresh pile of cuttings it added is challenging because it stinks so be mindful of its placement in your garden.

The overall look and structure I really like, but the hinges are too small for the weight of the lid. Also one piece of wood was broken on arrival.

Cute, but very flimsy for the price
Pro: Cute, doesn't look like a bin, plastic free, easy to assembleCons: Needs to be assembled at the spot you want it, because due to the way it is held together is very difficult to move (try moving a Jenga tower). About 3 months after owning it, the lid has split (held together by tiny tacks). Considering it cost 70£ it's not very sturdy.

Very happy :)
I took a long time deciding whether or not to purchase this particular composter after reading some reviews. I knew that I wanted a beehive design and had five different products to decide between. I was almost put off by some of the reviews but am glad that I went with this model. It arrived complete and all pieces intact in half the time estimated. After 2 coats of cuprinol on every piece, I built this myself (average female diyer :p) in the time that it took my other half to have a quick shower! Yes, the instructions are basic but that is because the build is basic! Feels sturdy enough to do the job and should last many years. It does need stronger hinges for top (easy enough fix) and the pre drilled piece of wood at the bottom was off centre (I like it quirky!) So overall I am very happy and love how it looks in my wildlife friendly garden.

Arrived broken
Paper thin wood, several pieces arrived split and broken, one of which had clearly been glued together before it was packaged! Flimsy and unstable. Don’t waste your money

Easy to put together. Only tool needed was a screwdriver.
It arrived quicker than expected and was really easy to assemble. I would have liked the timber to be a bit thicker and have few knots but overall a good quality products. I've treated the outside to help it last longer.

Very thin wood.
The wood is very thin so not very sturdy. The sides of the roof by the hinges have both broken off already and the edges of the roof that were pre built were held together with staples. These have pulled out and gone rusty. Needs wood screws. It looks pretty but not very substantial so not expecting it last very long dispite me already treating it.

Perfect service
When everything goes right there is little to say about the service. It’s only when things go wrong can you judge real service. I assembled my beehive (wear gloves makes assembly easier) all went fine until I got to the top where 2 pieces where damaged in transit.Wrote to Primrose and they replied that they would send me a replacement. So far so good. The package arrived within days with a note that said make sure this is packed and despatched with special care.I cannot thank Primrose enough and now I have a perfect compost bin
