Julep With a Trace Retractable Creamy Long-Lasting Lip Liner, Antique Rose

I only wore Charlotte Tillbury lip liner for years, which I would wear as both a liner and lip filler. The average cost of that brand is about $30. I was running out of it and needed to order, but Amazon happened to be ‘out of stock’ in my color that day. Not sure when it would be available again, I tried to find a similar color to wear in the meantime. Unwilling to pay the higher cost of a Charlotte Tillibury type brand (not knowing how it would look on me), I stumbled upon Julep. I wasn’t expecting much, but it BLEW AWAY my expectations! 1- It is a very creamy liner, and since I use it as a liner and filler, it is so easy much easier to apply. It also looks very smooth with rich with color. 2- No sharpener required. Sharpening lip liners and eye liners are a pain in the butt. Julep lip liner already has a naturally shaped point to it, but if you want an even more precise point, just twist up with the built in sharpener for the perfect point. Plus, it’s retractable, so you never have to worry about smashing that perfect point, when you put the cover back on it. 3- The color LASTS! I have never had to reapply during the day, including after a meal. Now, if you wear a more vibrant color (maybe black cherry, perhaps), you may want to “touch up” to return to when you first applied (although I don’t think you’d HAVE to). The color still looks great! I wish my skin tone allowed me to wear richer colors, but they are not flattering on me, so in all fairness, since I wear more muted colors, that may contribute to why I don’t have to reapply during the day. 4- The cost! This liner is literally 1/3 of the cost of the more expensive name brands. Charlotte Tillbury liner costs $30, and Julep costs $10. It is now my “go to” everyday liner. I simply can’t justify paying $30 for a product that is actually inferior to one that only costs $10. Overall, Julep is certainly worth a try at only $10. I have all of my girlfriends converted! Give it a chance…I doubt you’ll be sorry!

Beautiful liner that matches the just as wonderful balm. Super smooth and does last a while. I did not find it drying at all. However, I kept having to wipe around the edges, as it kept seeping into the dreaded vertical wrinkles around the mouth. Not a good look. Important to note, though, is I have very dry skin and applied this after my usual lip moisturizer. I also have a pretty hefty face moisturizing routine as well. Perhaps it was the combination of the moisturizers which caused the bleeding into fine lines around the mouth. Hopefully helpful feedback. Otherwise it’s a great product that I wish I could use. I may try and apply the lip moisturizer much further in advance of application and see if that works. There’s no way I can skip that step in my routine. My lips would be more angry than they usually are. :)

Creamy lip liner, goes on smooth and it perfect with lip glosses. It stays on even when the gloss has faded. This is a quality lip liner.

Mixed reviews about this product. I absolutely love how it feels and it definitely works, but the tip broke off with the first use. You can’t sharpen it so you sort of have to reshape the rest of it to get the tip back and have a smooth application.

I have tried so many white sealing-type lip liners over the last few months and I do believe I have found the perfect one! This is a fantastic product for sealing around my lips so my lipstick won’t bleed. I definitely will be ordering some more tubes! It’s relatively inexpensive, very smooth and hydrating and so far stays on for quite a while.

I have tried many brands of clear lip liner and this is my favorite. I've tried Dior, Maybelline, Rimmel and more. Most of them crumble. This one does not.

Not at all the color that was displayed for the product. Such a bummer.

I LOVE Julep make-up! & these lip liners are amazing!! Glide on smoothly, & stop lipstick bleeding out really well! The clear one is great as there’s no need to find a matching shade to your lippy!! Will buy again for sure!!

It’s a nice lip liner, stays good along of time. The only criticism I’d have is that they seem to have designed to top/lid in a weird way. When you’re trying to put it back on somehow the air collects inside and pushes the liner out propelling it. It literally makes it fly away. It happens to me EVERY time. Now I have to be very conscious of it and hold both very strong and do it forcefully and quickly there the liner is pushed back and flies off resulting in chunks of it being destroyed by smudging against whatever it has hit on its way. It never happened to me with any other make up so it’s a weirdly designed lid.

Does what it states on the listing. Ive bought a few in different colours (and I had to replace this colour as I used it all up). You can smudge it if preferred or leave it as recision liner (choice is yours). Colours last all day and smooth to apply.
