Q: How much area will this cover?

I used this in an external filter so not sure what you mean regards area?

Q: could i use this for an outdoor pond?

I don't see why not.... I got so much of it in a box, some of the pieces are quite big so prob works out more economicical to put this in an outdoor filter.

Q: Can you use this media in a marine fish tank

A year ago I transferred my fish from a Biorb fish tank to a marine fish tank and continued to use this type of media without incidence. I cleaned the media in water from the fish tank first before placing in the tank.
