Fantastic!
I've played all of the Disgaea series so far and this is one of the best:[Story]This entry in the series has you follow Valvatorez's quest to show the Netherworld the power of sardines! The world is filled with wacky and interesting characters and you'll encounter many of them whilst playing the game. There are some cameo's from the older games too but you don't need any prior knowledge to enjoy them or the story.[Graphics]The graphics are a major improvement on Disgaea 3's low res sprites. You can see details clearly this time and world looks so more colourful. The skills and maps have been given HD treatment too and it all looks fantastic.[Gameplay]The strategy role playing mechanics are fairly simple to get a grasp of and the tutorial is great at explaining what everything does. Furthermore, the gameplay mechanics have been refined further for Disgaea 4 so there's plenty for old and new fans to discover. The main story lasts around 30-40 hours and after this there is a lot of things to do such as defeating even harder bosses as well as new stages and maps. Be warned though, if you want to get the most out of the game it involves a LOT of grinding: leveling up items, characters etc. (especially if you're trying to get a platinum trophy). All of this takes a lot of time and if it doesn't sound appealing there's still plenty to enjoy in the main quest. A new addition is the map editor which lets you create your own maps and play other people's. I found it slightly disappointing that you had to grind CP just to be able to purchase new things for your map but I suppose it does encourage you to play other people's maps. There's also the item world, character world, new character classes and the campaign board to play around with so there's hours and hours of gameplay to enjoy.[Overall]I'd recommend this to both fans and new people to the series. There's lots of fun to discover so it's worth trying it out!

The power of Sardines!
I've not had this for long so I'll keep it brief, but first impressions are wonderful. If you're a fan of the Disgaea or any in the Nippon Ichi RPG series then this won't disappoint: its instantly engaging story and improved graphics will grab you.The storyline so far is once again outrageous and splendidly silly, opening with the wonderful power of sardines, no less. The gameplay is in its usual turn based 'board-game' style form with some new features and similar features to that of previous titles- especially that of Disgaea 3.The graphics and character designs are still 2D animations mixed in with the edgy 3D landscapes, however the graphics of both have increased, especially the 2D elements leaving you with lots of detail to eye-up.The sound, music and voice acting are also top. The musical score being of a familiar style and the SFX of the past games. The voice acting is very good, bar a few characters which are a little unsuited to their roles. All in all so far I'd give it top marks, Dood.

Arguably the best strategy game on ps3 if you have the time to master its mechanics!
I sank countless hours in this addictive game. It has solid but very deep gameplay mechanics, a funny, charming story and level 9999 is definitely not the limit.

Disgaea 4 delivers on its promises
From minute 1 i've started loving it!The gameplay remains as solid as ever, increasing it's depth in each release. Very exhilarating for those kind of guys and gals that thrive on the numeric orgasm that Disgaea has always been. The story has had me laughing from the very beginning, even though you won't see anything new if you're an avid anime watcher. The only thing i have to fault here is the poor explanation of the new Conquest Map feature. I still don't know how to use it and i wonder if it really affects my game as i ain't using it and do not feel any negative effect for not doing so.So, if you've enjoyed the other Disgaeas, definitly get this one as soon as you can.

True to form
Disgaea 4 is true to regular Disgaea form, with added extras and silliness that you would expect. Go on a crusade to form your own 'political party', merge creatures into even bigger forms and spend many many hours levelling up to insane levels. Definitely not a game that you'll finish in just a few hours.
