I’d just participated in a three hour mobile gaming event and my eyes were begging for respite. The Mavogel Sleep Mask with Cooling Gel Pad was waiting at my door when I arrived home. I chilled the cooling pad while grabbing a bite to eat. I examined the mask before inserting the cooling pad. This mask is nicely designed and made very well. The strap that extends to the back of the head is extra wide. The Velcro that secured it is quite strong. The mask pocket is closed by an invisible zipper on top. The fabric is very soft, it felt wonderful against my skin. I inserted the cooling pad and laid back for a few moments to recover from my day. The soothing coolness gave my eyes the TLC they so desperately needed. This helped them recover from the excess screen time I’d subjected them to earlier. This mask couldn’t have arrived at a more perfect time.That night I decided to see how the mask would perform as a sleep mask. The product page suggests filling the pocket with flower petals for an aromatherapy experience. I didn’t have any flower petals, but since I use a diffuser with lavender when I go to bed, I did have lavender essential oil on hand. I put a couple of drops on a cotton square and inserted into the mask. Ahhhhh……. It was heavenly! The relaxing fragrance of lavender surrounded me as I climbed into bed. Again, I must say this fabric feels great against my skin, it’s so soft. The wide headband covered my ears and secured in back of my head. While I appreciated the comfort of not having a strap resting atop my ears, having the band cover my ears did muffle the ocean waves being played by my sound machine a bit. Not too much, but there was some sound dampening. I also found the Velcro strap behind my head to be a little bulkier than I preferred when lying on my back, but again it wasn’t so bulky that it was uncomfortable. The mask did a fantastic job of light blocking, and it stayed on the whole night without slipping off. When laying on my side I found it extremely comfortable (however it’s not 3D, so it does touch the eyelids).I’m very happy with this mask. I found it to be quite therapeutic as a cooling mask, and it makes a good sleep mask as well. Being able to add a comforting fragrance to it makes it even more enjoyable. I know this mask will get lots of use, so the fact that it’s washable is greatly appreciated.****About me: Integrity is very important to me. I like this eye mask because it fits snugly around my eyes and blocks out light. The gel pad is an added bonus for puffy eyes.

I use an eye mask to sleep at night and wanted to try a cooling eye mask. The Mavogel Eye Mask is a great eye mask for sleeping and has so many practical uses. This eye mask can be used as a cooling eye mask by inserting the included gel pack into the eye mask or as a light-blocking eye mask. I personally like using this eye mask with the cooling gel pack because it doubles as a light-blocking eye mask and helps me fall asleep more easily at nighttime.This eye mask is very comfortable to wear and the velcro straps fit around my head without any tightness or uncomfortable pressure.The quality seems a bit cheaply made, but the concept is very practical. I did end up rating this eye mask 4 stars instead of 5 because the gel pack that this eye mask comes with is not flexible and is a bit hard.

This mask feels very nice, and is comfortable to wear. It does a good job of keeping light out but doesn't make me feel constricted or claustrophobic.I do have an issue with the gel pack however. I put it in the freezer and it froze solid, rather than maintaining some level of flexibility. The result is that when you put it in the mask, you have a very hard solid ice pack pressing against your forehead/eyes. It really needs something that will maintain its ability to confor, to the face even when frozen. There is a thick padded layer to the outter side of the mask, but only a thin layer on the other side of it that goes between your skin and the icepack. It becomes rather painful between the pressure of something so hard as well as the extreme cold that is barely reduced by the thin fabric.I will likely keep my eye out for an eye-mask that doesn't freeze solid like this one to insert instead. In the meantime the mask on its own is nice for sleeping in, and I'll continue to use it for that.

I was honestly shocked with how comfortable this is to wear! The fabric is super soft and cushioned. Definitely make sure not to completely freeze the gel insert though, because it can become rock solid and that can be uncomfortable on the eyes. 30 minutes in the freezer is how long I usually do it for.. I struggle with eye masks still letting in light because of my nose shape, don’t have that problem with this mask! I like that I can control how much compression this mask provides because you Velcro it onto your head
