BurdaStyle Modern Sewing - Dresses for Every Occasion

This book is very similar to the. burda magazines I used when making clothes. Great material. Excellent help. Gives an instant collection of. Ideas, patterns and techniques. Cannot be bettered for its clarity. If you require a sewing book start here. You get around thirty patterns for the price.

Considering the title "Modern Sewing" I found that most of the patterns were extremely dated and "frumpy". There are only one or two designs that I would consider attempting unfortunately. Some of the patterns shown didn't even fit the models that well so I don't see how a novice dressmaker could be expected to make the patterns work. All in all a bit of a disappointment!

The designs in this book are not very inspiring. Models not fiting the clothes does not help. Again this is a book published in the USA in inches, perhaps the designs selected are not for the to the European style. Very dated looks for a book only published under 3 years ago. Bought this book new for £6.00 plus postage, will be passing it on.

I am a beginner in sewing and looking for some selected patterns. I loved this isssue. Patterns are attached at the back of the book in a pink plastic envelope.

I am starting on this new world, so I don't have any BurdaStyle Magazines. This is a good start and, so far, I've been able to understand the instructions. :)

ladies, it is not a magazine, call it a beautiful book-bound-album. it has 25 patterns for Casual, Vintage, Trendy and Formal styles. quality is great, instructions are simple. the pattern sheets are all in the envelope attached to the spiral bound.

I enjoyed looking thru the book. I have not used any patterns yet bought I plan to make at least 3 of them.
