The Price of Success: An Autobiography

Interesting and well written.

Having read several of Phillips' books, and been greatly blessed by his New Testament in Modern English, I was most interested in reading his autobiography. The book is well written, and provides some good insights into this man who did such a fine job of rendering Koine Greek into "Koine English." The most helpful section was when he described his struggles with depression, which came out of nowhere late in his life. Having struggled with this condition myself, due to a brain tumor which has now been diagnosed and treated, I found this section to be instructive and encouraging.

i didn't know this book existed. was glad to secure a copy and read. the author has always been an interest to me having read several of his books and read regularly from his paraphrase of the new testament.

Great book from this author. He really opens up his heart in it.

If you are the least bit interested in J.B. Phillips or have enjoyed any of his work, this book is useful in understanding more of the man behind the writings.
