Usually wear a size 4 in NY&Co. dresses and AE jeans. I ordered a small and it fit well in my chest but was a bit too tight in my mid-section thanks to my pandemic snacking.Returned for a medium and it was not much bigger, so it was a great fit. A little loose on the top but I had no issues with it staying put. I used dress tape to keep the black elastic from rolling up around the top of the dress and it was perfect. Make sure you are sitting when you do the dress tape. I put mine on and then sat down and sitting pulled the dress free from the tape. I redid it from the sitting position and it was fine.My inseam to the floor is 33/34 inches and this did not go to the floor. It was about two inches above the floor, so I needed to find dressy flats and that was not easy. I had the red dress and went with black because I couldn't find a matching silver shoe.I was going to a formal ball and was afraid the professional photo flash would show the dress cups as others said in their reviews. I did not have that problem at all and we posed for candids as well as professional studio photos.Very comfortable dress.
