I was very pleased when I received this pullover sweatshirt. It's heavyweight without being bulky and it will be great to wear to keep warm come fall. The hood is a real hood and not just decorative. I ordered this in black and would like to order another one in dark blue. I can see wearing this to rake leaves or work on my car in the cool weather. And if my hands get cold I can just slip them into the roomy pouch pocket to get warm!

My partner and I own several Hanes heavyweight hoodies and crewnecks because they’re super comfortable. We both prefer the menswear versions over the women’s, which usually have awkward, thin cuts. I love a menswear lewk on myself and other women, and think these hoodies look really cute dressed up or down. I personally always prefer a nice, thick, super oversized sweatshirt. I picked up one of the new colors, a muted dusty blue, and it’s a great addition to their usual lineup. The fit is exactly what I expected: boxy, wide, substantial, and on the longer side. I went with an XXL to get that extra room, and got a small for my partner's smaller frame. These are 90% cotton and 10% spandex, so they do shrink a bit overall, though not enough to make them feel or look wonky. If you prefer an oversized fit, you should definitely go at least one size up. These wear really well and get softer with age, but the fleece stays thick and heavy through many washings. They don’t get thin and they don't rip, so they're definitely built to last. You cannot go wrong with these hoodies.

First off, I purchased the white hoodie in a size L soley for the purposes of dying it. It dyed wonderfully. Everything is indeed 100% cotton with the exception of the thread and cord for the hood. I'm generally a size M in men's hoodies but based on the comments regarding shrinkage, I went up a size. For me, that was a mistake. By the time I finished a pre-wash in hot water, dried it on high heat in my dryer, dyed it and then repeated the wash and dry process... I would have thought it'd shrink down a whole size. It didn't. It still fits like a L on me. For a female, I have fairly long arms but the size L in this hoodie even after being heat processed, it still ended up being way too big for me in the body width and length of the sleeves. I can't speak for men, but for a woman, just order the usual size you normally take if you wear a men's or unisex hoodie and if it generally gives you a baggy fit already. But if your normal size in a men's/unisex hoodie is a snug fit, then I'd suggest ordering up a size since there is some shrinkage but definitely very minimal. The hood itself is 100% non-functional for those of us that actually have a neck. I don't know why Hanes sews the hood on these so damn small and tight. Even with the size L I got, I still can't even wear it with the hood up. But I guess for the super low price I paid, I can't ask for much. Photos included to show how great the fabric absorbed the dye and the super teenie hood. This is a fairly lightweight hoodie, not t-shirt thin but not thick like Champion hoodies. Softness is about average, not anything to rave about but at least it's not scratchy and stiff.

Gosh, what a great cotton hoodie! Fits very well and is soft and warm and cleans up nicely. Great liner under other jackets. This is my weekend hoodie for work or play. Almost as thick as Champion or Carhartt but at a better price.

I like this hoodie so far. It’s comfortable and will keep you warm, seeing as it’s decently thick. It’s held up well after cleaning it a few times too, the fabric blend seems durable. It’s easy to slide right on and get all cozy in. It’s also great as it has a middle pocket for your phone or whatever else you want to bring around with you. I will say the one part of this hoodie that stands out as a con for is that the neck hole is a bit small and so putting it over your head is a pain but no big deal after a couple seconds of that ordeal. Then it’s spacious and nice for hours and hours. Don’t expect it to be extra long in length, as the shape of the hoodie is standard torso fit; neck to tummy. If anything, the length is slightly short relative to sizing - seeing as size L just meets the top of my thigh (for reference I’m 5 ft 4 and kinda fat). If you are taller or heavier and want something that reaches thigh, I recommend a size above L. The hoodie is very much a men’s build. It’s not feminine one bit and will not flatter a waistline or chest. It is very accommodating for bulkier builds, seeing as it has a lot of shoulder room, chest room, and sleeve length. Especially good for someone with a broader torso. If you’re bulked you will probably get a good money’s worth on this.

This review is for Hanes Men's Ultimate Cotton Heavyweight Pullover Hoodie Sweatshirt, Deep Red, XX-Large. The hoodie is of thick, heavy material. I washed it in very hot water and tumble dried it on hot air because I wanted it to shrink down to an XL size. What happened was that the length shrank but not the width, leaving the hoodie in a more shorter square shape rather than a smaller rectangular shape. So now it is a way oversized hoodie in width, but a lot shorter in length. The quality, as far as thickness of hoodie is concerned is top. But the way the hoodie shrinks only in length but not in width is unfortunate. It is something to consider when buying this cotton hoodie. Know that cotton will always shrink. But once washed in hot water and dried max heat, it will never shrink again when washed hot and dried hot. So this is why I always wash my cottons hot, and buy them a size larger. Usually the shrinkage works out great. But for some reason this hoodie only shrinks in length, not width, leaving the end result looking like a big square., which is undesirable. Want to give 5 stars for quality. But had to take off for strange way of fabric shrinkage.

Incredible. Opt for the premium version here, instead of the basic hoodie. This is my favorite hoodie, and I got lots.

Can’t complain much du to its price but only last for 3weeks with this price you can not expect more then this, bobbles after 3rd time wear around neck, and after wash 3times elastic at the bottom are so loose. As I said for the price it’s ok I only bought for my garden job which lasts for 2weeks and this hoodie also went to rubbish bin with all other garden waste unfortunately.
