Italian Aged Alto Speck.

PERFECT
We lived in Italy for years and while there, my husband discovered Speck. We moved back to the US and he was sad that he couldn't find SPECK anywhere in the US. I ordered this hoping it was the same, and much to my surprise, it was EXACTLY the same he ate in Italy. THANK YOU SO MUCH for this product. It brought back wonderful memories of our Italian meals.

never again
I received a piece that was very narrow and very long. Impossible to cut on the proper grain, plus there were two pieces, one about 1/4" thick and the rest larger. What is that all about? It felt like a leftover was sent to me. The meat is good but I expected more care considering the price.

Great South Tyrolean Speck - tastes just like in Bozen! Perfect for pizza or a snack.

Smelled of bad fish
When the meat arrived and I opened it, it didn't smell like any cured pork, country ham, pancetta, or prosciutto I'd ever smelled. It smelled like bad fish. Still, in my stubbornness, I sliced it and tasted it. It tasted like bad fish, with the texture of beef jerky coated in grease. I prepared several thin slices and ate them on crackers with brie. It ruined the taste of the brie.It didn't make me sick, but I am known for my cast iron stomach.Consider this a "do not buy/do not patronize" warning. From now on, I will buy my unsliced prosciutto in the deli section in a reputable supermarket,for whatever price.This product went in the garbage.

Product went moldy within one week of opening, sealing and refrigerating.
