Magnetic Barbell Collars Barbell Clips
Ok let's talk about convenience. These barbell collars are equipped with magnetic technology, which means they snap into place effortlessly. The magnetic design makes it incredibly easy to secure and release the weights, saving me valuable time during my workouts. Another thing I appreciate about these barbell collars is their durability. They are made from high-quality materials that can withstand the rigors of heavy lifting sessions. Whether I'm performing Olympic lifts, deadlifts, or bench presses, I can trust that these collars will hold the weights securely in place, allowing me to focus on my form and technique without worrying about any slippage or accidents. Speaking of safety, the quick-release feature of these barbell collars adds an extra layer of security to my workouts. In the event that I need to drop the weights in an emergency situation, I can easily release the collars with a simple flick of the wrist, minimizing the risk of injury. Furthermore, the sleek and minimalist design of these collars adds a touch of sophistication to my gym setup. They look great on my Olympic barbell and give off a professional vibe that I appreciate as a serious lifter. In terms of performance, I've noticed a significant improvement in my lifts since switching to these magnetic barbell collars. The snug fit ensures that the weights stay in place throughout my entire set, allowing me to maintain proper form and exert maximum effort without any distractions. Overall, I couldn't be happier with my purchase of the Magnetic Barbell Collars Barbell Clips. They have exceeded my expectations in terms of convenience, durability, safety, and performance. If you're serious about your strength training regimen, I highly recommend giving these collars a try.

Great weight clamps
I bought these on a whim because they looked interesting. The magnets in them i though were gimecky, but turns out theyre surprisingly useful. They hug up to the weight plate quicker because of them, and I could imagine they hold onto 5 or 10lb additional plates outside of the clamp if you're tossing them on for a quick set. These are great, and I recommend them if youre looking for a set of clamps

Great (and cheap) clamps
These replaced another pair that had a too small unlock tab. These grip like crazy and are **EASY** to unlatch. And I didn’t even realize they are magnet (there are non-mag ones too), which is great - just slap it on the side of the rack during plate changes.

Pretty good overall
For the low price it’s good and I’m keeping it but I’m docking a star because the magnet is kind of weak. The magnets are barely strong for them to hang on the side of a rack. Mechanism works but not as well as other designs. HOWEVER it is thinner than the other set I have which saves space on the bar if you have it loaded with bumper plates. No problems with it securing the weight to the bar

Disappointed!
I've been lifting weights for nearly 50 years now and have a complete home gym that includes dozens of Olympic plates, bars, benches, kettle bells, etc. I rarely write reviews, and this is the first time I've submitted a review for a product I didn't award 5 stars. I grew up using the traditional "spring clip" collars, but when the wider, "mechanical mechanism" collars came on the market they were such an improvement I bought 7 pairs and retired the spring collars. The ONLY drawback to the new collars is the amount of space they take up on the plate racks when they're not in use. As far as I'm concerned, a good pair of collars have two attributes. First, they need to fit snugly around the bar to ensure safety, especially when you're lifting significant amounts of weight and jerking the bar, as when you're "cleaning" them prior to an Olympic press or doing squats. Second, the user or spotters should be able to remove and replace them quickly when you're changing the amount of plates on the bar frequently, especially when you're dropping the amount of weight on the in small increments between sets, as you do when you're doing "burnouts." Similarly, if you're lifting with a partner, the vast majority of the time you're at different strength levels and will have to add or remove plates as you alternate between sets. In both cases removing and replacing the collars as quickly as possible, so you should be able to do so instinctively and without pausing to look at or fiddle with the collars. I can't speak for anyone other than myself, but when I'm exhausted it's hard enough to keep track of the amount of weight you or your partner used during your/their previous set. With that said, I bought these collars and paid roughly twice the price of a quality pair of "mechanical mechanism" collars for two reasons. First, I assumed the "magnetic" feature that differentiates these collars from all it's competitors would allow me to save space on my plate racks by simply sticking them to the center bars of the racks or, better yet, the support structures of my squat rack or lat racks. Second, I also assumed from the photos of these collars I'd be able to release and close them instantaneously with their distinctive "single lever" design. I was wrong on both accounts. While these collars do an excellent job keeping plates on a bar firmly and securely, it takes an inordinate amount of pressure to both secure them and release them, far more than it's "mechanical mechanism" competitors which appear to hold plates in place as securely as these do. More importantly, what prompted me to write such a detailed review is the fact the magnets in these collars are almost laughable, as the short video I've included demonstrates. First, only one side of the collars are magnetized, so even if the magnets were of sufficient strength to support their weight when affixed to a metal surface, they'd fall off 50% of the time unless you used a marker to identify the side with the magnets. As it is, the magnets in these collars are so weak they fell off my refrigerator door when I tried to affix them next to a heavy, thick notepad on my refrigerator I use to keep track of items I need at the grocery store...and the magnet that keeps that pad securely in place is merely 1 mm thick and half the size of the nails on my "pinkies." I tried to add a second video demonstrating the type of magnets that would have obviated the need for this less than stellar review. If you're a dumbell enthusiast like I am, you're probably familiar with a wonderful product called "plate mates." Platemates are small, metal, Rubber-coated "donuts" weighing either 1.25 or 2.5 pounds that have extremely strong magnets on one side. They attach securely to the ends of traditional "hex" dumbells that allow you to increase or decrease the weight of dumbells by 2.5 pound increments. As you probably know, 5-50 pound "hex" dumbells are sold in 5 pound increments, and after you've hit 50 pounds they're usually only available in 10 pound increments. As I've gotten older I've transitioned from free weight to dumbell workouts, increasing my repetitions while decreasing the amount of weight in order to maintain muscle mass but avoiding the increased danger of muscle tears and pulls. Both the 1.25 and 2.5 pound Platemates are behemoths compared to these coats, yet their tiny magnets are so strong they literally jump out of your hands and onto the ends of hex dumbells when you're placing them in position and stay right where they are regardless of what type of dumbell routine you're doing. I only mention Platemates because the manufacturer of these collars could easily have incorporated the same strength magnets into them but opted not to do so. The adds for collars featuring the same slim, unilever design as these collars tout them as being "slim enough to fit in your gym bag," but I've never once brought my own collars to a gym. Of course if you belong to a gym that doesn't supply collars for their Olympic-gauge bars, that might be a valid consideration in favor of buying collars with this design. I should stress I haven't purchased or used any other brand of collars with this design other than these, so perhaps they're easier to take off and replace than these are...or you could just replace your big bottle of shampoo or conditioner with a travel-sized one and keep using your "mechanized mechanical" collars.

Great value for convenience and confidence
Much preferred over spring-loaded or plastic locks. If you cannot the full chrome metal locks, these are great. Good fasteners, and magnetic feature allows me to keep units nearby.

Exactly as advertised. They work great and I am able to remove with one hand if I'm holding more weight in the other hand

Some many collar upgrades in recent years, but these are now the best I feel. The are stiff for opening the first time or two, something noticed on all 4 purchased, but they aren't bad after, but you sort of have to have a strategy for opening and closing. Good news is that they are very tight, and hold very well. The magnet part keeps them up against the plate for when you lock, allowing ease with cleaning up slop in that. This is still present somewhat with bumpers and the typical center metal ring being enough. I loved the colours as well. Best of all is that they are half the width, which for aspects like our trap bar for deadlifts getting near maxed out, this allows for another 10/15 lbs plate with the space saving, which if you have gotten to the end of the sleeve, is big. all in all very happy. EDIT two months later I've attached photos of a break in the arm. These are used solely on a deadlift bar, so not as much use as some other collars I have. It breaks, as you can see in the last photo, because there is a manufacturing seem at the end of the arm where thr pin goes through. There is upward movement when opening the collar, and this clearly puts stress on this, and leads to this. I'm hoping the manufacturer responds with an answer or that this is a fluke and replaces them, and if so, I'll change my rating, but for now, after so little time and use, they are highly not recommended!

They are nice out of the box. Lots of plastic I hope they hold up. The closure and opening requires some hand strength so this could be an issue for some. Magnet works on my rack. I like them.

UPDATE: After I wrote this review, seller contacted me to offer either a replacement or full refund. That doesn't make this particular product any more suited for my needs, but the excellent service means I'd buy from this seller again! Design is very nice and all and the idea of them being magnetic was supposed to make them safer when handling heavy loads... theoretically! I had them for 3-4 months, but since I only used them for my heaviest deadlifts, I used them on only 4 workouts and only on the last 2-3 sets or so. It seems that they couldn't handle the lateral pressure from the plates as soon as the bar bent enough! Since I use a fairly stiff bar (BoS PL bar) it starts bending at around 405 lbs. That's when I used the clamps anyway. So they withstood 3 workouts ending at 455 or below, but on my last one, on the last "warmup" set @455 lbs, one of them broke and set the outermost plate loose which hurt my back and prevented me from finishing my workout! That's dangerous!!

I bought these about 6 months ago as a back up set. I'm too lazy to detach either pair from my dumbbells sometimes. Unfortunately, they didn't last long. One has already had the plastic break at the hinge connection, and the other has increased resistance closing, so I suspect it may not last much longer. The plastic doesn't appear strong enough for the force generated to close these. Since they were used intermittently, I probably got 30 days or so out of them, which is pretty awful considering the other plastic pair I have lasted 7 years and counting, with more frequent use. On a positive note, It was nice that they had magnets so I could just leave them on an upright and grab them as needed, and they do look nice. Too bad about the quality.
