i want to be sure that it will change colors on it's own without me constantly using remote. i don't want this done through what i know as a strobe?

Mine came with a remote, and, once I set it to the fade, I don't have to touch the remote again as it will change the color gradually. I have kept it on since Feb 2019. as a room ambiance. My family won't turn it off as if it is an eternal flame. And, it is robust.
