Does the "Swing out basket" come out so you can dump the coffee filter and grounds?

Can I make tea as well?

I bought this coffee pot because I wanted an automatic TEA maker. Works GREAT!! I like a little bit stronger tea - so I fill the water reservoir with 10 cups of water and put the setting on BOLD. Fill the coffee/tea basket with 3 bags of good, strong Irish Tea and 1 bag of Earl Grey. Set the timer for 6 AM and when I wake up I have delicious hot tea.

can your auto shutoff be reset without making a new pot?

Yes......simply turn the coffeemaker off then immediately turn it back on and the the 2 hour auto-off will re-set.
