Couldn't put it down!
So glad I found this book! I am distantly related to William McClung and have even visited his grave. This story brought William and his family to life for me and made me feel like I knew them personally. The book was well written and informative and it pulled me into the day to day lives of the people who settled the Virginia (West Virginia) frontier. I would highly recommend it if you are related to this family or are interested in the Appalachian culture. A+

Great book!
Very informative book written in a down to earth prose appropriate for adults and children alike. This would be an excellent book for an Appalachian or West Virginia history class project or for anyone interested in early settler life.

Great Appalachian history book.
A great book for anyone interested in Appalachian history. This was a great biography of a Revolutionary war hero, a pioneer settler and a true Founding Father.
