So, I'll start by saying we did not get this for fishing. I got it to solve our road trip dilemma, how to get snacks and such back to the kids while driving (passenger and driver) since you cannot reach the back seat even if youre the copilot. We have three young kids, so I also needed to be able to open things when needed for toys and food. This net was perfect! It is plenty big for snacks and is long enough for the kids to grab the net and take snacks out all the way in the third row. It is a sturdy metal pole so it withstood toddlers pulling at it. It screws together easily and unscrews just as easily so you can store it in a basket( we keep a target plastic basket for misc things in van and it fits perfectly ). The only thing I imagine would be an issue is the ease of the unscrewing. It would get loose as we used it throughout our trip, but it doesn't bother me any. I'd buy it again.

This is an absolutely amazing and high quality fishing net that my young siblings absolutely love! Though the description says that it is for children, this net is big enough and strong enough to be used to bring in some decent sized panfish (or to catch that swift butterfly!) The telescoping handle allows for an extended reach making it much easier to bring in your catch and for children to sneak up on the butterflies they would like to catch. The bright colors not only are fun for children, but they also allow for the net to be quickly and easily spotted when a child leaves it laying somewhere. The net portion is able to be screwed apart from the handle allowing for easy storage or for the entire net to be quickly placed in a backpack or other luggage! This net has truly provided hours of fun for the whole family and has held up extremely well from the wear and tear it has sustained from small children! I highly recommend anyone that has young children that enjoy fishing and catching butterflies and other insects to get this net for them! They'll have tons of fun and will absolutely love it!

It’s great for kids to explore with. The netting is large and won’t hold smaller tadpoles and such, but will hold things as small as large minnows. Well made netting and pole. I expect it’ll hold up for years. My daughter caught a small-medium sized snapping turtle fishing and we were able to safely get the turtle out of the water with this, cut the hook out, and send him/her on their way. No damage to the net or pole. I’d buy them again. But if you’re looking for something to catch tadpoles, you’ll need finer mesh netting.

Inexpensive and lightweight. My kids enjoyed these. Unfortunately, one of them arrived broken. The pole had an opening in it that would fill with water. We had to throw it out the first day using it.

This was a fun for the bay. Bought a three pack but they were a bit flimsy. This was higher quality, stro get and unique pattern so at the end of the day we k ew it was ours.

My son wanted a net to catch frogs and turtles at our Cottage so we purchased this after looking at reviews. It is very lightweight which is excellent for a 5 year old. It worked great for 2 visits to the cottage but the third visit my son went to shorten the net and he noticed he could not push it down easily. The shaft was bench from using it, not in the water but just singing down at frogs (not even catching one). I was able to straighten it but then shortly after the glue came loose holding the net on the shaft. I ended up fixing it using an industrial waterproof adhesive from my work. I think they need to use a better adhesive when assembling this. We have not had an issue since using the other glue. We are careful with the net knowing the shaft bends easily. I guess that is the trade off for a lightweight aluminum net.

Was great to have. We had first bought our girls 4 smaller nets on Amazon, but these were much smaller, and all snapped over a weekend under the pressure of my young daughters moving them in the lake to pick things up. These however are very strong. Their were a couple of times that the net ring shifted minutely under pressure, but this was in the ocean, against a hard tide, and when I was admittedly using a lot of pressure to dig things up in the sand while snorkeling- and I was able to Put a little pressure on the ring and straighten things up. One of them did come out of the package with some of the paint scuffed off, which was a little disappointing bc they were brand new- but I didn’t worry about it enough to return it. The net held up well considering we did catch a large blue crab in one of them, and it held up. They do extend well, although after slat water exposure I could tell it was a little more difficult to do. The metal used on the blue nets was what sold me to get them rather than the pink nets which many reviews said had plastic parts.

This net is fantastic if you have kids that love to fish as much as you do. Brought the net out to the bank and had my 2 year old nephew haul in some fish while I had them on the hook. The net handled a 6LB channel catfish like a champ. Let's start with the pros, for starters the length is perfect for kids. Like stated earlier the nephew had a blast. The pole itself is colorful and vibrant, perfect for a child. And finally the pole can handle itself. Now don't get me wrong, don't expect to net in some larger fish, but I can say it handled a 6LB channel cat just fine. Now for the cons, the overall length of the pole could be better, I wouldn't mind a little extra length. At the current length, you're gunna have to reel in that fish roughly 3-4 feet from the bank to haul it in. As for the net itself, this net has two stress points, one in the middle, and the other at the top of the net. You have to screw in the net portion at the tip and the middle is a telescopic ring. I would rather see an all in one system where I can collapse the net in one easy motion and set it up as well. Overall it's a great net. As an added bonus, I came to fish on my own on a motorcycle and the net is pretty small and portable if you're riding on a motor. Hope this review is helpful for you potential buyers.

Perfect for the Grandkids. Sturdy.

Unfortunately the product had to be thrown away by recipient as it was a gift as the extendable stock gets stuck constantly and impossible for a child to extend as it gets stuck to the point you need builders tools to fix it.

Excellent product, extremely versatile and durable. We use it for frog catch/release as well as fishing for small fish (also released).

Strong net seems good quality frame and netting. However on the first use the foam handle split. It does not effect use, just annoying to have something brand new break right away.

Needed a net for tadpole hunting with my kids. This one was the same price as the toy melissa and doug ones but vastly superior in quality. The handle telescopes to a nice length and the net is well made. We must have caught about 20 tadpoles. I'll be purchasing a second one!
