I was a little skeptical about this protein due to the price and some of the reviews I read. Mostly the ones talking about taste vs. cost and consistency. It was recommended to me by my holistic functional medicine doctor because my protein levels were pretty low. My body doesn’t absorb protein the way most people does and although I’m on digestive enzymes and other things to help the absorption, I needed to find a way to intake more animal protein. Which if you know anything about needing to eat anywhere from 125 to 150 g of animal protein per day that can be a huge challenge. You don’t get that in yogurts And protein bars however, she recommended this protein and said it would count towards my animal protein absorption due to how it is made and absorbed we absolutely love it! I am 42 years old with a 17, 11, and five-year-old and all of us, including my husband drink at least one of these protein shakes a day. We often mix it with a little bit of oat milk and a half of a banana and sometimes my tea will throw in a scoop of peanut butter, but even just by itself it taste amazing. I would love to see the price come down, however that’s not going to stop me from being a returning customer because the quality is worth it and I easily blow $100 a month at Starbucks and this is so much more worth it than that.

This was my first time trying beef bone broth protein powder “Hydrobeef” and I can say I don’t like the taste as much as traditional whey protein. It has a strange type of taste that I tried to describe to my wife as a bit grassy and savory especially with the aftertaste. The taste definitely isn’t offensive but it isn’t good. I found myself burping a lot when I first drank it hopefully that doesn’t continue to happen maybe it was a one off thing. I appreciate the mostly clean ingredients in this powder, aside from the silicon dioxide. Not sure how I feel about that being in there I will have to do more research but that is a bit concerning, seems to be used as an anti caking agent. When I did throw this stuff in my blender bottle and shake it, there were some chunks that didn’t dissolve I wonder if that was the silicon dioxide, but I didn’t like that there were chunks. The chocolate flavor isn’t that strong but I appreciate that it is coming from cocoa powder so pretty natural in flavor. It isn’t overly sweet and compared to other traditional protein powders it is definitely less sweet then those. I love the fact that this has additional health benefits like supporting healthy joints, etc from the natural beef protein. Aside from the flavor and price I would give this protein 5 stars, but some questionable ingredients, high price, and weird flavor drop it down to a 4, I would say 3.5 stars, at a more reasonable price I would give this 4 stars.

Bought this because of the top notch ingredients. Was not disappointed! Good stuff, delicious!

This product does not taste good and when I tried to mix it with milk (like I do my hydroowhey) I ended up with what lookd like a a cup full of Cocoa Puffs floating in my milk. I will update this review after taking this product for awhile to let everyone know whether it actually helps with my workouts. For now, the taste gets one star and so does the blending power.

Since I took this protein in July 2024, about 5 times I have had a lump on my arm, which I now have surgery to remove.
