Both before an after the sprain 9but only after the fracture), I started experiencing an burning sensation in my middle toes after about 2 hours of wear, no matter what kind of shoe I chose (other than Birkenstocks or Crocs). I have a couple of international trips, with a bunch of walking coming up and I was worried about my ability to see and do the things I wanted. I bought these shoes on a whim because they were inexpensive and had good reviews. I am so glad I did! My toes can move freely and the toe box is really big. No joke, they looked a little like clown shoes when I first saw them, but they are really cute on. I have already purchased another WHITIN style and they are also comfy. Very little arch support to help your feet adjust to barefoot shoes. True to size. These are NOT slip resistant, not recommended for hiking, especially on rocks or anything you need a grip on, you will slide. They pick up a lot of sand adding to the non slip resistance. I work in a quiet office environment, and over the past week that I've had them, most of my workers have commented on how loud they are. It's too bad too, because they check all of the other boxes. They're a good reminder to pick up my feet more, but even they they squeak lol. They squeak on every surface except carpet, even on rough pavement.
