Exciting time travel
I so enjoy reading Bergren's time travel books. This one was a continuation of Three Wishes. I really enjoyed how the main character used her modern experiences and personality even back in time to woo her adopted family. Many courageous adventures!!

Captivating End
Four Winds is a captivating end to the River of Time: California duology. It kicks off from the very start and doesn't stop until the very last page. Sieges, kidnappings, pirates, shipwrecks, fights, parties, and so much more kept this book moving at a non-stop pace. There was so much going on that huge chunks of the book flew by without me even realizing I had turned a page. The adventure is wonderful, the ending is majestic, and overall this is a book that can pretty much stand on its own two feet. Something I wondered throughout the book was with Zara and Javier talking so much about Zara being able to make the choice on her own whether to go or to stay for sure, why did Zara never think well what if I go back and then regret going back to my own time but I can't get back to 1840? She did a lot of thinking about staying or going as finite options. Maybe it's the over-analyzer in me, but I couldn't help but wonder, what if you go back and realize it's a huge mistake and then you can never go back in time again. How awful would that be? Regardless, it all turns out well in the end, so despite my ponderings, the thoughts don't have too much bearing on what happens in the end. Overall, I could read another River of Time series any day of the week.

four winds
Four Winds picks up where Three Wishes left off. It seems that Zara Ruiz is now permanently stuck in 1840 with Javier de la Ventura and his family. Just as she is becoming aware of her love for Javier she is kidnapped by pirates! Javier will stop at nothing to get Zara back and Zara will stop at nothing to become free. Will this experience show Zara and Javier that their love is not meant to be and that Zara must return to her own time? From the very beginning of the book the reader is taken on a fast-paced adventure! I was transported to 1840 along with Zara and felt her struggles. I love her character. She is strong, young and vibrant. And Javier? Oh my! They are perfect for each other. I love the passion that they both have, not just for each other(although there is plenty of that!), but their passion for life, their passion to preserve their faith and their family and their land. It was fun to be taken to another era where danger and chivalry abounded! I'm definitely part of the River Tribe fandom!

Unbelievable a must read
The story you are about to read has everything a romance book could have to hold your attention. Love, tragedies, adventures, real life episodes to connect to. I was glued to this novel; had to know what happens next!

Bridges to the Heart
So much adventure on the seas, land, and in their hearts. Really a princess story! Again, Javier was the perfect guy in all the right ways. Admittedly, I'm a sexist in the way that I do believe women and men have certain purposes that the other doesn't. One of my favorite moments was when Zara realized that the men in the 1840's were protective and it felt good to her. Women shouldn't be defenseless, but even if they can defend themselves, knowing they are valued and worth protecting is a treasure. I just loved the messages this story brings to light. The gifts of love, choices, honor, and embracing what you have now.I'm feeling an incompleteness with the story. Reluctant to spoil with my reasons. Ending felt like a beginning.

Very intriguing!!
I love Lisa's books!! This is the third series of hers I've read and I have to say when I read her books I feel like I am actually there. She really knows how to make her books come to life. Everything I read keeps me at the edge of my seat and it's hard to put the book down once I start reading it.I also like the way she subtly refers to God in her books.I definity would recommend this book to those who like historical fiction, and romance ( the clean kind)!!

FANTASTIC ENDING
Wow, this book had so much in it. There was murder, kidnapping, pirates, shipwreck, treasure hunting, and a bit of romance. Who wouldn't love a story like this?!I loved how the author wove this tell together. She uses beautiful word pictures to help us see the world in which Zara had landed.I don't know if I could have endured all the things Zara had to. She also fought with the choice of going back (or forward) to her own time. Yet knowing in this time she found her three wishes - adventure, a family, and love.Would she find that going back to her time?I guess you'll have to read this book to see what she finally decides, where she truly belongs.I loved this book and hope you do too!

A must read for anyone who loves time travel, romance and adventure!
Loved this book!!! However was slightly disappointed that the book came damaged. I love books and as such take very good care of mine. The damage wasn't significant but it was enough to disappoint me.The book itself though was great and I am the biggest fan of Lisa's and her novels!
