I cut a plastic pail that the pump fits in with about 1/8" of room to spare. The pail is only 2" hi. The pump is on a timer and when it shuts down each evening the water that is in the small pond is siphoned back thru the pump and cleans any debris that has accumulated around the top edge of the pail. This is the 1st pump I`ve found that is round so it will set in a round container that keeps large debris away from the pump intake. This pump is supposed to be for continuous service. I run this pump12 hr. a day. I am hoping the seal does not go bad as most other pump I`ve had has. This is the 1st one I`ve seen that claims it is for continuous service. ### ⭐ Wired wrong, works backwards, blows air instead of sucking up water *by P***L on Reviewed in the United States on July 4, 2020* When this pump was plugged in, instead of sucking up water from the bottom, it sucked air in the top and blew it out the bottom. Clearly cross-wired. So that meant not only that we have to return the pump and get something different, but we've blown $22 on the hot-water heater cleaning solution. No customer service, no way to get help.
