In my opinion, I would say it does not moisturize even though it contains Aloe-Vera and it has a tendency to sometimes produce a white residue as it dries. I use the gel, massage it in, wait 20-25 minutes, then wash it off. I do not always use a moisture lotion after using this product, but it would be fine. This product is really good--it's primary purpose is for Magnesium supplementation (there is approximately 490 mg of elemental magnesium per teaspoon) and is a novel form (the gel) for massaging onto the skin and for the positive results of this.
